Lollypop sharing Would you share a lollypop or popsicle with your Yorkie?? |
I voted wrong I share all the time!! My kids get grossed out everytime I do it. |
Never would. The last thing i want to do is create a bad habit for begging. And i also think its gross. |

I don't eat lollipops but I have shared the last bite of popsicles with my two:D |
I voted gross but not for that reason - I don't want to foster begging either with Izzy so if I do want to share something with her - I will give her a very tiny last piece of either banana or popsicle but will put it in her bowl. She can sit with me or anyone while we are eating and not beg one time...she will come by you to see what you have but then we say not for Izzy and she goes away. ;) |
I share. The Yorkies don't beg -- when I choose to share I invite them. :) |
Mine do not beg either. Most of the time Muffy sits on my lap and sleeps while I eat. I have shared for years and never had a problem with it. |
Zoey is a horrible begger( more like demander.) My Husband and Daughter and I have agreed to stop giving "treats" from the table. We have created a monster. Zoey is starting to get the hint. We want to break the habit before the new baby arrives. I know it is bad for her health and she has already lost almost 1/2 pound in one week. I feel terrible for teaching her such a bad habit that is no good for her. I do admit I let her lick my lollypop the other day tho. |

i would let her have a couple of licks, but thats about it i think. my mom shares with her peppermint patties right from her mouth. shes crazy... |
I can eat anything with them right on my lap and beside me and they never beg. I do share my cold stone ice-cream when we go up to Trader Joes. They LOVE "cream-cream" (roll the r's and pronounced like crem-crem) Got that from my husbands grandfather who was Italian. :) Dogs mouth is cleaner than any humans for sure. How do you think they are able to lick wounds and heal them! ;) Humans have the nastiest mouths and we can get a serious infection from a human bite. |

Nope, no sharing, no begging with Winston. Made that mistake with my first Yorkie and meal time was not pleasant and his health suffered because of it. So I voted no, but not because I think it's gross...it's what works for us. |
I've shared with them before, I've even let them eat off of my spoons! I'm sure my friends and family who've been over for dinner would love to know that! LOL:p |
I do it and yes my dog begs, but as soon as I tell her "no, leave it" she does a pretty darn good job of leaving it!!! |
Aurora learned that she likes to lick jolly ranchers while we were up visiting my mom. For the most part, Aurora doesn't get much real food (not counting the real food in the home cooked meals) BUT g-ma's house rules get bent. She watched penelope get the first lick of my mom's jolly rancher so she wanted to get a lick too. They can be in another room and they will perk up when they hear the jolly rancher wrapper open. she won't come and beg, but she lets you know that she heard it. I invite her over and she gets her lick and then she is happy. My ex complains when I let her lick those and my suckers. Have yet to have a popcicle since I had her....sure she will get some of that though too. |
the whole familly shares with my coco and by that i mean me my fiance his brother his siter and his mom we have no issue she the baby of the house and tipically gets what she wants lol she's super spoiled but i dont care i love her and i dont find it gross one bit :D some people think were strange but she my baby she even takes showers with me sometimes!!! my mom thinks im crazy but i love her so much and dont like to deny her the pleasures in life that doesnt mean that im going to eat things that are harmful to her and give her some i try to eat things that dogs can eat too so that way she doesnt get sick god i love my coco!!! oh and coco's favorite candy is starburst my fiance just told me to add that in lol |
No, I would maybe let them lick it after I was done, or put some on my finger. But after the things I see them eat, don't think so!!! |
I voted no...I don't think it's sanitary either. Especially when they lick themselves after going to the bathroom.... |
