What is your favoriet paint? Ok I had sworn off painting but it's time to repaint my bedroom and my sons and once the basment is cleaned up I want to slap some paint on down there. Anyhow I am interested to hear which is your favoriet. Thanks in advance.:D |
I would only use Benjamin Moore paint. I am getting ready to re-paint my large bathroom. Really tired of the faux painting in there. Time for a change. Good luck with your choice. |
I am so not going with Behr which I have used time and time again I guess due to the close and easy access at my second home the Home Depot. I was leaning toward BM because I heard it was a very good quality paint. During the early summer I painted my kitchen and diningroom. The kitchen had to be primed and I used their damn primer and then when I painted after it dried and then took off the painters tape (don't get me started on that crap) paint peeled like it was a second skin. Behr's comment was well it had to be something I did wrong....not worth it for the headaches. You know it's funny how Behr was rated number one. I checked a site that had pro painters and when I asked this question most of them said that they wouldn't use Behr they are not that happy with the quailty of most other than Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore. Matter of fact two pro painters said that they rate Behr as the second to last and Glidden as the last. The figure that Consumer Digest only rated Behr top due to the value for the money. At this point I rather pay a few bucks more and get a better paint without all the hassles of bubbling, running and peeling. |
Behr stinks! I bought it only one time when I moved into my condo. I painted the small bathroom blue and it peeled like skin from sunburn. I was so darn mad. I blamed myself for not going with BM. Home depot was closer but I paid the price. I would never use Behr again. Believe me, I have used BM for over 40yrs. That was the ONLY time I didn't. Lesson learned. |

Ralph Loren for me. I've painted this house inside three different times and have painted the new house (which we finally sold) inside and it's 2628 sq. ft. I've used many brands over the years, but I find the best colors are Ralph Loren. |
I love love love Ralph Lauren Paint along with the color selection. I just painted a spare room last weekend in SOHO. It looks beautiful! I bought 2 gallons but turned out I only needed 1 because the paint went on so smooth and even the first coat, so I only needed to do touch up in areas instead of a whole second coat! Good luck! |
Benjamin Moore, I just got finished painting one room.. 5 more to go!!! |
Same crap here.To tell you the truth I like walmart paint over the others I have tried. Quote:

The best paint is American Tradition from Lowes. I've used: Behr, Glidden, Frazee, and the American Tradition from Lowes. It has great coverage, and it goes on a lot easier than the Behr. Stay away from Glidden. It may be cheaper, but you use more because it has poor coverage. Behr has great coverage but it doesn't go on as well because it is so darned thick--same with Frazee. If paint peels it is because of two things: 1. moisture in the walls, or 2. painting over oil-based paint with water based (acrylic latex). |
I like ICI colors, but Sherwin Williams paint is the best formula. ICI is a Glidden company, but has way better and many more colors than anywhere else, IMO. You can always take any sample from any paint company to another store, for example I used a Benjamin Moore color deck, but got Shewin Williams paint. (ICI was recoloring their line at the time, so I couldn't get my hands on a commercial deck.) |

I wish I could afford to get a pro to come in and knock out these rooms for me...loll |
I voted for Ralph Lauren...I have used it several times and like how it goes on...I have used Behr also and did like it...I never had a problem with it peeling |
