I have no clue to who they are - but after reading the thread I guess they are moviestars? Reallife persons are much more interesting - and reading about all you who have been married for a long time after meeting and marrying quickly is so much more interesting to me than any famous person. My husband and I met on January 25th, he proposed on April 24th and we got married on September 6th. Bought a house on October 15th. All of this in 2003. And we are still madly in love with each other. I am sure we will be in 10 years as well - neither of us has ever felt what we're feeling together :) We knew we were ment to be after...well, my husband says he know right away...but I say 3 days :) |
I never thought of Tom Cruise as an "older" actor till he started dating Katie Holmes. This is really back-firing on him IMO. |

Wow! The cynacism on this thread is palpable! I thought I was a cynic, but you all are making me look like a hopeless romanatic, the eternal optomist! I hope they have each found their soul mate and they will marry and live happily ever after! Who cares who is the better actor or who is older or taller than the other. I think it's cute that Tom acted like a giddy little school boy on Oprah. I wish more men were open with their feelings. Who wouldn't want their boyfirend to be that crazy in love with them? It may not last, but not much does these days. I say they should enjoy every minute while it does. |
All that giddiness would be sweet if it were sincere and real; I don't, however, believe it is. Katie is being used and Tom is playing to the naivity of the American public -- especially those who are obsessed with celebrities. I think he wants his movie to do well, since his career started out strong in the 80s and 90s and has fallen steadily since. |
So ok anyone who would divorce Nicole Kidman is insane so it make sense he would get engaged to a child (in comparrison to his age) I cant stand him as a person or as an actor i think he is fake and does it all for publicity. |
I saw the Oprah show where he was acting all weird, kinda like a 7th grader on hormone overdrive. Just an observation. It didn't suit him and was a little creepy. I'm not saying that in the real world May/November romances don't work. Of course they can. But for the most part hollywood actors snag sweet young things cause their overfed egos tell them they are entitled and they can!! When it comes to them, yeah, I'm a cynic. I think I can probably predict how it'll play out...the same way they usually do. Personally I think it's a slap in the face to women his own age who may have a few sags and wrinkles, but more than make up for that with grace, wisdom, education, patience and perserverance. JMO. |

have you seen the show called Dawson's Creek. she played joey |
Can't stand them - total publicity stunt. Hollywood will use any means necessary for free publicity I think. It could be real but, once again, it's Hollywood! ;) |

1. The celebrities who tell the press their lives. They depend on the press to write about them, so they get their name branded and get more jobs. 2. The press to write about celebrities lives. They depend on the celebrities to tell them good stories so they can sell magazines. 3. The people who talk about the celebrities and what they do with their lives. As long as people care about the celebrities, both no. 1 and 2 will survive. If you don't like it - ignore it and don't buy their magazines. That is the only way to send the clear message that this does not interest you. I also don't know who Katie Holmes is - but hey, I also have no clue to what the name of the lady in no. 4 on my street is called - and they have equal importance to me. People who choose acting do so because they love acting hopefully. So the industri should be able to survive without gossip about private lives. IE - I know nothing about Max von Sydow or the girl who played Megan in The Exorcist. Still it's a damn good movie and will stay so for many years still. Even though I don't know anything about their private lives. |
Definately Creepy I saw Tom Cruise on a celebrity talk show (maybe Entertainment Tonight? The one with Billy Bush) and was sadly turned off COMPLETELY by Tom Cruise. Guess I'd never heard him say more than a few sentences before. That whole cult thing is VERY CREEPY. I looked it up on the internet, and learned they think humans are made up of left over remnants of outer space aliens that landed on Earth many years ago. :D Impossible to be Christian and a member of that cult, despite what TC says. Now I wonder how TC ever gets a date with anyone. That girl he's involved with is in the cult now, too. Couple of dopes. I just hope Brad Pitt doesn't join the cult, he's the only Hollywood Hunk left! |
