Which dry dog food do you recommend? Which of the 3 dry dog foods below do you recommend? |

Not sure about any of those three. I feed Lulu Merricks. Great product and all natural. She loves it. |
I think Canidae is the best dog food on the market. But, yorkies are picky and if your yorkie won't eat it, then it's better to feed her something she WILL eat. |
Dont use any of those My yorkies LOVE Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lovers Soul dog food. Great ingredients and small kibble. I can only get it at feed stores (the kind for horses, cows, ets) not at Pet Smart or Petco. I always fed Iams Eukanuba before I found this. Lynn |
Canidae and Innova are both EXCELLENT foods. |
I would have to say Merrick or Royal Canin Yorkshire |
I have tried a lot of different foods. So far Innova seems to be the only one that doesn't give him the runs. I haven't tried Canidae because I can only get a HUGE bag. So far Innova works very well for him. |
None listed is what we use Well - I switch between 3: Natural Balance and Back to Basics with maybe California Natural. Never a problem and Izzy loves all 3 with different flavors. |
I feed Toby II California Natural. He loves it and its all natural! I think its the best out there. And the price is reasonable since it takes him months to go through one bag. I also mix in a little wet food - Nature's Logic, which is also all natural and very tasty to him. |
Also I get both at Pet Supplies Plus if you have one by you. |
California Natural is made by INNOVA. :) |
We only use Natural Balance Organic. Canidae is suppose to be excellent I'm told. |
My babies love Canidae, however I am starting to feed them Nature's Variety raw diet, they also love it, I will probably be switching to this once they finish the 20 lb. bag of Canidae I just recently bought. |
our vet had told us to get iams and gave us samples of iams puppy food when we got her. I am not sure at what age, do I switch to adult food though. Is Iams not as good? Wasn't sure since not on the list? Would love to hear from others. I just was going by what the vet said, but I want whatever is best for my baby. |
Out of the choices that you gave, definatly Innova. |
not science diet |
Please not Science Diet. It is horrible. Innova is, in my opinion, one of the best foods available but we feed homecooked and Canidae. I think Canidae is really well balanced and all ingredients are from the USA. Roxanne_mi, most vets recommend Science Diet or Iams. They do not have good ingredients. I highly recommend this site: dogfoodanalysis.com Four and five star foods are great for Yorkies. Six star foods are awesome but have a lot of protein which may be too rich for some Yorkies. |
thank you for that site, I will definately check it out. I wasn't sure if the vet was saying to feed her iams because iams is the company that supplies their new puppy folders. I think I will check out some of the recipes on here and try making some homemade food for her. |
We have used several foods, but are currently feeding Dick Van Patton's Natural Balance Sweet Potatoe and Fish. We were in search of a food that would work for pups with sensative tummies and all stages of life....and this was one of the recommendations and has proven to work for our pups! |
RC Yorkshire Blend:cheer: |
new dog food I just got a bag of Taste of the Wild dry dog food. I think its made by the same person who makes chicken Soup Puppy, which I adore. Well, it was love at first bite!!!! It is a grain-free kibble. So far, so good!! Ingredients are great too. Lynn |
