Vaccine Reactions I thought this would be an interesting thread because so many people think that vaccines are very safe. Please just select all that apply to any of your Yorkies and explain in the forum what kind of reaction it was. |
Great idea....I'm very interested to see how this poll turns out. |
Willy has never had a reaction to vaccines, however I had 2 cats from separate litters have reactions to the rabies/distemper vaccines. Joey became very sick within a half hour of the vaccines & ended up in the hospital for the night and Cj's head & ears turned bright red and he couldn't stop shaking his head, we took him back to the vet about 3hrs after the vaccine, they gave him a few shots & sent him home with us to monitor him overnight. This all took place in the same evening. Very scary, needless to say those 2 never went back for vaccines, as they were indoor only cats anyway. They have both since gone to the Rainbow Bridge. Im really interested to see how this comes out too. |
Ack..I can't remember off hand right now which vaccine in the puppy series it was that Lulu had her reaction to. I do remember it was the last shot before she was to get her rabies. I had them give it seperately so we could see for sure if any problems would arise so we could know for future reference. Anyhow she ended up having diahrreah (3 days) and threw up some. The vet said to bring her back in and they would give her the equivalent of doggy pepto so I just gave her some human stuff myself in a very small dosage. That is why now that she has had her full series of puppy shots at the one year mark I will give her the follow up dose and then she will go three years in between vaccines in the future. |
Tatum has had a reaction to her shots before...but you know, I don't even remember which one it was   I am terrible lol. |
