BE HONEST! Would You Take/Steal Your Dog(s) Back? This subject has come up more than once, especially recently. I just want to know exactly how far we are all willing to go for our babies. Let's say, for example, you are going through a rough divorce and your ex has your dog(s) and won't give them to you. Would you take/steal them back? Or let's say someone stole your dogs from your yard and won't return them and the police can't do anything about it because your dogs were never registered. Would you take/steal them back? In all these different circumstances, let's pretend that NO ONE can help you get them back ... no lawyer, no judge and no police officer. So my question is ... would you allow that person to keep your beloved babies or would you do everything in your power, even if it comes down to stealing? I've seen a lot of people say it's wrong to steal your dog back because then you sink down to that person's level and you're no better than them. But I tell you this and I kid you not ... IF someone, ex husband or stranger, ever had one of my babies or all of them and wouldn't return them to me, I would absolutely positively take them back. I say "take" rather than "steal" because in my heart it is NOT stealing because they have always belonged to me. Stealing is when you take something that does not belong to you without permission. My dogs belong to me, period. So that's why I would not view it as stealing. I'm just really curious what everyone else would do. I've thought about this a lot lately and the potential consequences but I can honestly say that I would risk everything to get my babies back. I also just want to say don't feel embarassed to post. There is no right or wrong anwer. If you would not take/steal your dogs back, do not feel guilty or like you're a bad doggy parent. And if you would take/steal your dogs back, do not feel guilty about posting so because you don't want to be bashed. Please let's have no bashing. I'm just honeslty curious what the majority of people would do in this type of situation. |
There is no doubt in my mind that I would steal my dogs. |
Not only would I take MY dog back - if given an opportunity I would retrieve anything of MINE (if the item were of value to me), if there was no other avenue to get whatever back. I know two wrongs don't make a right, in this case though - I wouldn't care! The way I see it - if it is mine and I get it back - it's not stealing. |
YES I would! I would do anything I could do to get them back.:) |

If some stranger took my dogs, of course I would steal them back, no questions asked. But if it was an ex, it would depend on the circumstances. If he took them because I wasn't able to care for them, I don't think I would because that's not fair to the dogs to have to keep switching homes, and plus, I voluntarily allowed him to keep the dogs. |
I would DEFINITELY "Take" my dog back! I agree, it is NOT stealing or stooping to any levels... It is just retrieving back that is rightfully yours. ;) |

Some people try to make you fearful of what's going to happen. I say fear ME and what will happen to you if you take my property! |
For sure! |
You can't steal something that belongs to you! No doubt if anyone stole my pet or anything else and I knew who did it I would do my best to get it back without a doubt. I would not feel guilty in anyway. After all it belonged to me in the first place and someone stole my property. |

But I'm really more referring to cases where an ex has kept the dogs WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION or someone else (like a stranger passing by your front yard) has taken your dogs WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION. If you give your dogs away and then want them back, that's a different story. |
Yep I would do what I had to do.. |
All I can say is, God help the person who gets between me and my babies. You better believe they are coming home with me, one way or another.:D |
