Nail Clippers, Which Do You Use: Guillotine or Regular?
 
Which one is safer? Which do you use? Which brand do you prefer? Which would you recommend?

I don't use any clippers. I just use a heavy duty emery board (black ones two to a package at Wal-Mart, and file the nails after their bath. This way I can keep them short and not have to wait till they grow enough to cut, or worry about cutting too short or not short enough.

That's a good idea! No need to fear clipping off too much by doing it that way.

I use the regular dog clippers and trim the tips off once a week. Between clipping and walking outdoors, their nails stay short.

I use the groomer's clippers! I can't stand doing it! I'd much rather pay my money and not worry!

I never thought of that I am going to try it bcause I as m scared of hurting her. Thankyou for the idea. Anything else you can pass along to a frist time mom would be great. I just love my Mimi she took me thru a bout with CA and it reall y think it saved my life!!! Peach

the regular kind with the saftely thing built in so you can cut their whole foot off!!!:rolleyes:

I have the one with safety gaurds also. ven so I still am so timid about doing it. I hurt Rocco once and it made me feel so awful.:(
