Does your Yorkie hide from you? A poll I admit it. As much as I brag about Eddie's agility and tricks, he has some bad habits. One of them is occasionally running FROM me. I contribute to the bad habit by playing keepaway with him, but he also runs when I try to put on his booties and coat to go outside. If I don't sneak up on him, he's under the bed! It reminds me of an an aunt who had a poodle that ran from her at bath time. I'm just wondering if I have the only hider! |
You're not the only one! As soon as Josie sees me coming with her toothbrush, she takes off at high speed and hides under the coffee table! :dogwalk: |
Chachi hides under the sofa when he know's I'm going to put him to bed. |
Bubba slinks away and hides behind the lounge chair when I tell him he has to go out and pee before we go to bed. |
Katy doesn't hide from me unless we are playing hide and go seek. Thats her 3rd favorite game. #1 Catch-Tennis Ball #2 Chase #3 Hide and go seek |
Yoshie hides any time he thinks he's in trouble. |
'bacca hides only when he has a sock from the laundry! |
If she knows she's going in her crate or knows that I'm going to take something out of her mouth, she "tries" to hide underneath the entertainment center. I've moved that thing so many times to try to grab her. Grrr LOL :p The worse is when I'm in a rush, and I can't grab her. |

Gus never hides from me. I couldn't get rid of him if I tried. :p |
I have one that will hide if he has something he's not supposed to have or he hears the word "bath", or he sees the comb or if he sees clothes coming out of the drawer for him or sometimes he just seems to want some "alone time". My other one never goes off, stuck like velcro to us at ALL times. |
Interesting that so many of us have hiders. I imagine you wouldn't have the same results on, say, greatdane.com. LOL. Anybody have a good way to get them out of hiding? I thought I'd outsmarted him when I bought some squeakies. Not toys, just the squeak part of the toy. It drives Eddie wild. And sure enough, the first time I did it he came out to investigate. But that's all it took. Once he realized he'd been conned, he stayed hiding. |
Alphy doesn't really hide, but he does take off the other way if he's done something wrong. i.e. poop in my laundry room. I always know when there's poop somewhere because instead of following me he's trotting off in the opposite direction. LOL:animal36 |
Pepper never hides. He runs away (when he knows I want to brush him or 'just in case' coz he suspects something  ) but he always makes sure he's 2 feet away from me. He doesn't have to hide, he's so small and fast I'm having trouble catching him anyway. |
mine only hide when they are in troble and they know it |
Hootie never hides from me, but Hobbs hides when he knows he's about to get a bath or when he's done something bad and he knows he's about to get in trouble. He scurries behind the couch. If he's done something bad, he hides and waits for us to cool down then he leaps in our lap and licks us to death, like he's saying he's sorry or something. It's too cute. |
