Option 6 My boys let themselves out/in through cat flaps. But if they are locked they will smack the flap loudly then stare at us to be let out, and will bark to be let back in. |
Tinkerbelle looks at me and sneezes ever so gently to let me know she wants out. When she wants back in she makes a "roof" noise and whacks the door with her front paw and boy I'd better open it right now or I get the Bad Mama look when she walks by. |

Tibbe started out as a potty-dance circler but now just plants B4 me and stares, barks if necessary. |
Emma just starts walking around or will whimper for my attention if she has to go. |
Dexter has started some of these traits as well now. If you are on the sofa he sits on you and stares if he wants playtime or food. He will then move his mouth like a bark but with no sound, and slowly increase noise until a deafening bark if you don't look at him. He may nibble the hand as well to tell you he's hungry. If he can't sit on you and he wants food/walk/general attention he will beg in like a meercat pose, but if you don't notice he will make a sneeze-like, almost choking sound and simultaneously eject his tongue. This usually gets my attention! |
My new little 1-year-old rescue was already housebroken when I got him. He puts his paws on my back door and licks it when he needs a bathroom break...or he comes to me and just sits and stares - pretty easy to tell from the look on his face that he wants me to take action - lol. |
I couldn't vote as mine will just quietly stare at the backyard and then stare at me and repeat so if I'm busy I sometimes missed his signal. |
