Tucker responds better to a deep voice. But, I do yell when he is barking, otherwise he wouldn't hear me! Man is he loud. |
lexi got smacked a couple of times, from me and my mom, but only when she ran off the deck into the street and i just screamed and yelled in a panic. when i finally grabbed her from under the car, yeah she got smacked. she did it to my mom not too long ago, now picture a 70 year old woman coming in to check on her an she runs out the door into the street and my mom is running down the block after her.. my poor mom could of had a heartattack. i think lexi got hers.. my mom has a heavy hand and i bet she got the s**t scared out of her...my poor mom.. i just laughed when she told me that... all mom kept thinking , was splat, splat, splat and her daugher never talking to her again.. |
Me too! I know yelling is bad... But I still do it every now and then. Why? Aggie acts on it. She'd stop whatever she's doing and be a "good girl". I think it's because she knows it's serious time (change of tone) and she better be "good". |
Thanks for the comments, everyone. I learned something: Never p--- o-- an Italian! Kidding. I see I'm not alone. I only yell for emergencies, and I avoid those like the plague. |
I yell at/for Stewie in emergencies! I yell @ people all the time! :) especially my jack a$$ brother. |
We only yell at them when they are barking but clapping works just as good. |
I'm Italian (Sicilian to be exact) so I can yell up a storm when necessary. But I have never yelled at my dogs before. But I agree that certain situations make it necessary -- like if your dog runs out of the house or something else like that. |

I have honestly found that yelling is sometimes better....I have a little guy that will just turn and keep going (the little stinker). But normally, I do not yell....I am a very quiet person....It just kills me the look on their face when they get yelled at! Okay, I'm a big softy....I know! I definitely do not frown upon those who yell or smack, sometimes there is a need for a yell! |
