my yords is so small I could almost weed wack it. I would not let my guys in the yard, they have too much fund barking at me from the windows!!!! |
Yes , and only because we have an eclosed deck attached to a fenced in area (concrete floor) for the dogs..:) |
I would never let any of them outside. It is dangerous. The lawnmower can go over a rock and turn it into a projectile. |

This! I wouldn't even let my bigger dog OR my husband in the yard if I was cutting grass with a mower. Any stick, stone, pinecone...could be slung at anyone in the area. This is also why I always wear jeans and tennis shoes when cutting grass (no matter how hot it is). |
I don't mow, but when the yard guy is here, I can't even let Huey on the deck because he does the stiff-legged bounce "I'm gonna tear you up" barking fit, and although in 4 years he has never fallen from the deck, he gets so excited, I'm always afraid he will. He hangs so far out between the railings, it terrifies me. And speaking of, the yard guy just showed up, so I gotta go get the mutt off the deck... |
Wow, clearly I'm just stupid. Lol. This is something I've never even thought of. Our fenced in yard is pretty big and we will often be in the pool etc while my dad decides to mow. Jax stays far away from if, he's not stupid and usually is just swimming and whatnot. And even when my dad opens the gate he knows how to stay back. All 3 dogs stay far away and just chill over by the pool deck while he's mowing. |
No way! I work in a vet clinic and I've seen too many bad endings to having your dog outside while mowing. |
I don't allow Pao out while hubby mows the lawn..I am sure Pao will chase the lawn mower down given half the chance....its like asking for an accident to happen plus all the grass or sticks that are flying around....might get in to their eyes etc...better to be safe than sorry. |
My current puppy Paris will be 5 months old tomorrow and has just recently touched the ground outside when my daughter opened the door and she darted out, she is a fast little booger lol. She is strictly a house dog as of now I do plan to take her for walks when she is older but that wont be anytime soon. I have been working with her on the leash inside the house and she uses potty pads. |
I've a fenced in area around the pool I let my lil guy run around in. I forgot how I voted though :) |

This gives me chills, though, and reminds me of my childhood. I had a tortoise that was allowed to roam loose in my California backyard. Just as I was yelling at my Dad to "Watch out for the turtle," ... well, you get the picture. I blame no one for caution. |
For the mopst part, my dogs are kept inside or kenneled while I mow since, years ago, I had an Australian Shepherd that tried to herd the running mowers. *sigh* I do have a poodle now that I allow to ride the lawn tractor with me (without the blades running) because he likes to think he's a farm dog. ;) One trip around the yard and he prances and grins all day. Silly guy. |
Absolutely not, all my pups wanted to KILL the lawn mower, Cody is no different. He stays in the house and watches from the widow in attack mode lol, silly little boy. |
