Stay on your lap? Eddie has no patience. If he sits on my lap and I move for some reason, he's gone. No coming back. Same with the rare occasions that he leaves my wife's side and wants to snuggle in be with me. If I toss and turn, he moves on. Jillie is the opposite. If she's on my lap and I get up, she waits for my return and settles back into her spot on my lap. I can get up 5 or 6 times, but each time she waits patiently for my return. What do your Yorkies do? |
I had one before that would stay no matter what but our Rosie is just like Eddie. If she, out of the goodness of her heart decides to grace me with a lap visit I get a dirty look or two if I disturb her. Disturb her more than once or twice and she is gone! LOL |

If I get up or move, Kaji is right there patiently waiting to get back into HIS lap. There are times that I pass Kaji on to my brothers. (busy doing laundry, etc) At those times, Kaji will unhappily sit in another's lap, but he'll stare at me the entire time and give me a dirty look. :p He'll even fall asleep while giving me a dirty look, it's hilarious!!!! But as soon as I settle down, and start folding laundry, Kaji is right there ready to crawl back into my lap. |
I voted usually, because I have one...Bogie who will always come back. Jada not so much:p She has to be in the mood to lay on my lap to begin with and if she gets disturbed you might as well forget her coming back:D |
Kacee just stays in my lap a few minutes anyway. She always crawls next to me and puts her head up on the arm of the chair and sleeps there. |
My boys share my lap. When I get up they wait to see if I come back. It is hard to get up when they are comfortable and look so cute. :D |
Sugar usually waits patiently for me to come back. Unless I'm wearing my ugly Victoria's Secret hot pink robe with huge white circles (used to be DD's :D) then she ALWAYS returns and I have very limited range with the words I am able to type on my laptop ~ because she has totally taken over the top of my lap  |
Levi is Mr. Independent. He rarely sits ON my lap, but will sit next to me. If I get up, move too much, or try to move him (heaven forbid!) - he's done with me. :D He moves off and sits by himself. |
My boys, Oliver and Ben both want on my lap. If I get up they will both settle for hubby's lap, but only till I come back! Brooklyn likes to cuddle on the same chair with me close by but not on the lap. ( I think she is afraid that if she does I will brush her hair!!) 😊 |
Riley always. Lily sometimes. So I voted usually |

I voted always. Not only do they return to my lap...they follow me when I get up! I have two very small and cute shadows! |
Sunny, doesnt leave my side...if she is laying with me (which she is constantly by my side, her choice not mine) and I get up to use the little girls room or change wash to dryer or go to the kitchen, she will follow me. When I go back to sit or lay, she plops down right beside me....yep, she is my third nipple!! Lololol Bobbi |
I have a couple of shadows. Couver will always return to my lap, but Khloe is more independent. She prefers to sit next to me or on the back of the couch. |
If I get up, my boys get up and follow me around, but they don't return to snuggling with me. They find something to do for awhile., or they try to get me to do something with them like play, go walking, give them treats..... |
Jackson is like Eddie. If he's all cuddled up near me, dare I move... lol. He will just get up and leave. So I always try my best not to move when he's actually cuddling or laying on me, LOL. Whereas, Lilly, my dads JRT mix won't move even when you want her to. lol. You could be kicking her and she could care less. |
Sometime she will sit and wait , but if we are on the sofa she will move on but in bed both will wait. Max is so and so , if we are on the sofa he may wait or may not. I never know , if they move on or not. Sometime I get a little sad that they move on , how dare I !! lol !!! :'0 |
I've trained Tessa to be less needy and more independent. She knows when to be a lap dog & when not to, but if it was up to her I'm sure she would be attached at the hips to her mama  |
I usually have to pat my lap as a way for me to say come on back so that she knows I didn't move just to kick her off! Then she will come back. PS. Eddie is just a stubborn man. hehe |
My boys are utter and complete lap dogs. If I get up, they follow me, when I sit back down they climb right back on. Dexter likes to be under a blanket so usually he is beside me on the couch under the blanket behind my legs and Fletch is always on my lap Fletcher does not love the blanket so much since he has to investigate every single noise the blanket hinders his speed to the origin of noise! haha |
I voted 'usually' but it's kind of usually. If I get up, say to grab a drink or something of course Princess is at my heels the whole time. More often than not, once she see's I'm sitting back down she runs to find a toy to play with, with me. So, yes she returns but not always to relax, to more or less take advantage of me trying to relax. If were all snuggled with blankets & a movie or something she's more likely to chill after a disturbance & snuggle right back in. |
Ginger is all over the place. Depends on her mood, I guess. Sometimes my lap, sometimes beside me, sometimes on the back of the sofa and sometimes in her Cloud 9 bed. :>) She's always in the same room as me though, no matter what. If I go into another room, she is right behind me. |
