Active or mellow? I admit it. I was expecting a lap dog when my wife brought Eddie home, and I was pleasantly surprised when I learned how active terriers can be. Meanwhile, he's developed a nice, mellow side that has me wondering if most Yorkie owners would consider their pups to be active, passive or somewhere in between. I marked #3, even though Eddie probably spends more hours during the day being mellow. I figure he's ready to go at any time, which makes him active in my mind. |
Tucker is without a doubt #4...:p |

Stewie is always on the move. I voted for 4. I practically have to strap him down when I want to relax. |
Susan is mellow, especially considering she's only 7 months old next week. She plays hard when she plays and she's up for anything we want to do, but sometimes when she's bugging me it's just because she wants to sit on my lap. She'll sit on my lap for hours sometimes -- as long as I'll let her. I used to think there might be something wrong with her but when I see her playing with her livewire sister (my mom's dog) I can see she's OK. They go for hours and hours and hours on end only stopping for a few minutes to catch their breath or for a drink or catnap and then they're at it again. She always needs a bath when we've been over there. But at home, she's a cuddle bug. |
I have one of each really...Magic is always on the move, she will play to the point of exhaustion and then crash hard...while Sailor is much more mellow, but knows how to really get up and play when she wants too!!! |
At 7.5 months, I am surprised that Kacee is so mellow. Funny timing for your thread, because I have been thinking about this lately. Muffin was much more active and ornery than Kacee. Muffin was my little imp! :D I don't know exactly how to categorize Kacee yet. She loves long walks and jogging. She loves to hang out in her yard. She can play with her squeaky ball and other squeaky toys for the longest time and yet she is so very mellow the rest of the time that she seems much older to me than she really is. She's perfectly healthy, too. They can be as different as day and night. |
Okay I put #4. But he is so dang cute. He is a nut ball, but he is calm after he wakes from naps, and I just love those cute little dreary eyed times with him. And even though is is so hyper, and been on chewing-everything-he-can-get-his-paws-on stage, Ilove him to pieces! |
Crystal, is a #2 and might be moving to a #1 soon but right now she is still pretty active but as far as actually running she'll surprise me outside every once in awhile. Put it this way she could probably keep up with Eddie for ONE DAY !! |
Cute thread - I have 2 #3's - I love the way the girls are :) when they want to be holy terrors... they sure can turn it on though |
I cked #4, I have to put a leash on my KimMee to get her to slow down. She just now will lay still in bed with me when she wakes up and she is over one year old. There might be hope at the end of the rainbow for a more mellow pup. My daughter's yorkie is a #2 and I thought that is what they all are like. But, she keeps me moving which is good. :) |
I have a 1 and a 2. Jewels is almost always mellow. Chachi is mellow but can also be active. |
Peeka is very mellow most of the time but he does have his moments when i think he's on crack lol! But Boo he is so wild all the time |
