15...although my mother had one when I was young so maybe thats where the love came from :) |
I was 19 when I first got my Libbie :) |
Mature Yorkie Owner I've had Dogs all my Life, every Breed from a Pitbull to a St. Bernard. I never saw a Yorkie in person, but the first time I met one I was 41 and he impressed me so much that I had to have one! That was a Thursday afternoon and by Sunday I was going to the Airport to pick him up, it's now 5 yrs. later and I have 3 of them (5 at one time). I am so in Love w/them that I collect anything "Yorkie", Books, Magazines, Art, Clothing, Stickers, Magnets, Picture Frames and Bumper Stickers. All my Friends and Family have 2 or more Yorkies at least. Everyone that knows me, knows that I am Yorkie Crazy! I'm so Happy with mine I guess that I convinced every one around me to get one? I don't think I was mature or responsible enough to get one when I was younger, I was too busy Traveling and seeing the World. I also did not have the Financial stability and freedom to spend the kind of money that I do now on them, they are definetly an Investment in time and effort as well. |
Yorkie keep me young at heart I fell in love with the Yorkie breed when I was 15....finally got to have one of my very own when I turned 45...a Valentine present to myself!! KiKi (20 months old) is the center of our family and she is worshipped and adored and she owns us all :-) |
I'm 24 i my roxy is my first baby |
In my 30's:) |
I was 19 when my husband and I found our Marty. :) |
I was 45. I always had mini poodles and when I had to have my 15 year old boy PTS I said never again will I make that difficult decision. I lasted about 6 months and I realized how much I miss having a fur butt around. I decided my mini poodle days were over and after much research I decided to get a Yorkie (Chipper). I had Chipper for 13 great years and I was more attached to him than any other dog that I had owned. I loved that little guy so much and last year when I had to have him PTS I was devistated. After 2 months of grieving I knew I would never move on until I had another Yorkie baby in my life. Now I have Piper and even though she is completely different than Chipper I love that little girl just as much as I did him. |

18, Jimi is my first and only :) |
I love hearing these stories! I was 35 and my oldest was getting ready to graduate high school. I could see the day when I was alone and my boy friend told me about an aunt of his that had a yorkie and how she was the smartest little dog he'd ever seen. I stared to look into them and saved up $25 dollars a week so I could get my first girl, Mandy. The beginning of a daily love story. :D |
I was raised with them... do not know when one could be exclusively mine, but i always thought all of them were mine, or it was other way around, i was theirs... |
I was 50 and my first yorkie was my birthday present. I loved him with all my heart. RIP my sweet little Snickers. |
