Rabies Vaccine I'm terribly bored, so I guess I will post a couple-few polls. Obviously this is far from Scientific, but I saw this one done on YT before and felt like doing it again. |
I think it is a great idea for a poll. Yes, Piccolo reacted to a vaccine and it was life threatening. But, not sure if it was the Rabies vaccine or the other set. (DHHP?) The vaccines caused vasculitis, but she is currently in remission. :) |
My smallest maltese got a large bump at the injection site..........she was four when we rescued her and never had a rabies shot before. She was given the one year in case of major reaction but this year we gave her the three year with no reaction at all. The other three fluffs never had a reaction from the rabies. |
My answer was no for my Yorkies. But as for my Chi Killer he had just a rabies as did my others and he was the only one to get absesses all over his body he even smelled funny. I took him to the vet and he gave him benadryl for the reaction. Now he has to have a bath weekly along with my Yorkies b/c he is really oily. |
Thankfully, both of my yorkies have no problems with the Rabies vaccine. |
Myah hasn't had reactions to shots, but still gets a shot of Benedryl before hand. I also have her shots broke up so that she doesn't get them all at once. My Bichon, has reactions to all shots and has go have some lumps removed where she reacted to the shots. They were just small lumps and we thought they were scar tissue because they are right where she has gotten other shots. Now they are one big mass, and look like sebacious cysts, so we'll have it removed and tested to make sure it isn't anything serious. I think if it was up to me....they wouldn't get any shots, but since we travel out of the country, we have to get them.:( |
Thank goodness no. I'm always so worried when I get her any kind of vaccine since I've read many stories on here about furbabies having reactions, but so far, Sasha has been fine with all the vaccines that she has had. |
I said no- non life threatening. But when Layla had her first shots- she had them all at once (bad mommy- didn't know) and she had a very bad reaction- shallow breathing- high fever. Now she has it separately from others -actually she will only be having rabies in the future and titer tests (ok geting off topic) and she still gets very drowsy and sore. Thank god it is only every 3 years. |
Bella after her 1st Rabies Vaccine developed a HUGE "black" pigmented area where she recieved her vaccine. At first, we thought it was a hematoma but, when her fur fell out (int that area) & grew back in a different color......the Vet decided it was an odd reaction to the Vaccine after all...poor Bella! :( |
no reaction No reaction , but all shots r broken down , so they don't get them all at once. I don't mind driving a hour one way to the vet a few time , just to make sure they r ok. I also gave them the 3 year shots after their 2nd bd, I just hate to see them get upset about shots, I also give them benedry before and after for 2 days to make sure they r ok. bark@ulater! manina,miley:aimeeyork,max:animal36 |
