How many of your babies have a soft trachea? How many of your babies have a soft trachea? I'm worried about little Bailey's trach... He's got a soft one and I know it's common in Yorkies because every yorkie i've owned has had one!!! I thought by getting a bigger yorkie I'd be decreasing my chances... :( Bailey is 8lbs. of nothing but love! |
What is a soft trachea? :) |
I apologize I didn't answer sooner, I wasn't on last night. I'm not going to be able to answer this as well as someone else might but a soft trach is basically a trach that doesn't have the "elasticity" or "strenghth" a healthy yorkie's trach would have. I'm sure someone else can come along and describe it MUCH better than me!!! |
My vet says NO but I say yes!! If Laci is really really running around fast for a while like at the dog park she she makes those funny noises like its collapsing or something.. |
So far both my yorkies have normal tracheas. But my first yorkie when I was a teenager, had a collapsed trachea. It was very difficult to deal with, and at that time, there wasn't much the Vets could do. |
Yeah I hear ya, I've had two yorkies in my past with collapsed trachs and it's heartwrenching to watch. It's sooooooo sad. I never knew Bailey had a soft Trach until the trainer came over and told me (although I did suspect it). I think I wanted so bad to believe that he didn't, that I pushed it out of my mind... :( |
So collapsing trachea and soft trachea are the same thing or no? |
well i'm not sure... i think the soft treach is more likely for it to collapse??? I know Bailey def. coughs a lot more! |
Soft trachea How do I know if my Yorkie has a soft or normal Trachea:confused: |
not sure! Where is the poll option for "Not sure"? I too am curious to learn more abotu soft trachea. |
