My daughter brought Rockie from a reputable breeder in los angeles. She researched with my niece for about a short week:animal36 We had to make an appointment with kelly to see all her yorkies. She has a clean home with the yorkies running around socializing. Her mom is the actuall breeder, it was a great experience. We were there for five hours talking and deciding on which pup to get. She was very nice and helpful. l still keep in contact with them. |
breeder I got Regina from a breeder who was a friend of a lady i worked with. It was a good experience an Regina is a very healthy dog would buy from this breeder again. |
We got Sophie from a breeder we didn't know, and feel that we really lucked out! She's exactly what we wanted, and was the last in the litter! |
My puppies came from a byb/broker. I did not know this until I got to this web site back in October. After doing a lot of reading, etc on this site, I figured out where I got them. I have had Buster for almost two years and I have had Maggie for one year. Both have LP and seem to get sick easy. I love them and would not trade them for anything. I did not do research as my husband bought of them, with Buster being a surprise. I did not know I was getting him. I had no idea there were byb's or brokers. Never heard the words before concerning puppies. I know better now but what can I say? I will not purchase another puppy from those people. :( |
Galahad is a rescue, and we're so glad we found him! He's wonderful! |
Annie from Save a Pet (No Kill Shelter Illinois). All the yorkies are rescues. |
byb Was it a good or bad experience? Yes the man truly loved his dogs and was very kind, everything he told me checked out, I got Pann for only 350 and he has papers. No health problems, just a perfect pup. Did you research the before hand? Not as much as i should have Where reviews easy to find on the web? How did you find the byb? Newspaper |
The pet shops here don't sell cats and dogs, only some small animals like hamsters, birds and exotic animals. I got mine from a breeder. I found her on a classified and visited her website - That's where I saw a picture of Sandy at 2 months old, I fell in love with him ;). I did a lot of research and found a number of Yorkies from her kennel are champions. I decided to go to see her and the puppy. I also saw Sandy's parents. It was a great experience and she's really helpful. |
I bought my yorkie at a pet store. I was not educated about the risks. Don't think we have puppy mills here in manila either. I was looking for a breeder online but came across all these scammers. So we ended up looking at yorkies at the pet store and found one that was cheaper than the normal price here. I thought I had found a bargain, boy was I wrong. The first day at home he started pooping blood. Luckily we cought it early, he had the parvo virus. After a few trips to the vet they discovered he had ringworms, then later earmites! Thank God he's healthy and ok now. I will never buy a dog from a pet store again, I learned my lesson. Next time will be from a breeder.:) |
Knowing what I know now the lady we bought Zeus from is likely a BYB. We were very fortunate that we have had very little problems. He may be prone to LP but not sure yet. I had a positive experience. I got to see both his parents. She did have tons of dogs on her property probably a red flag but we didn't know. We just fell in love and ended up with a great Yorkie. Easy to train and great temperment. YT has educated be so much since we have joined. |
I put other b/c I did not pay for them really. I got CoCo from a Vet's office who was recouping his costs for the moms c-section and all the pups vax and stool samples/dewormings. The Chi/Yorkie mix was free, I jsut had to get all her shots and a vet visit since none had been previously done. So, I have a Pure Yorkie, and a "designer breed" LOL for half the cost of one purebred. Proof that you can get a great dog without paying $15,000.00. |
Both our yorkies are from rescue. Actually, 6 out of 7 of our dogs are from rescue. We would not do it any other way.;) |
Daisy came from a pet store/puppy mill before we knew the difference. Pixie came from a breeder. They both are very special to me. Daisy had so many health problems the first 2 years and in abd out of the hospital. She still has a few minor health problems that we deal with. Pixie is a healthy girl and filled with lots of energy The expierence was wonderful! |

I bought my Sasha from a breeder, Southeast Texas Yorkies. I did lots of research when I finally decided that a yorkie was the breed for me. I read a couple of books, then went looking for a breeder, since I had read never to buy from a pet store. I went onto the AKC website and they had recommended breeders for every state there, 2 here for Las Vegas. I contacted both of them and never got a response back from either (VERY dissapointing!) so I went to the internet. I don't even remember how I came across her site, but I did and it was just wonderful! Very informative, she has listed a puppy care guide, and makes you fill out an application before she will even consider selling one of her pups to you, to make sure that you are a right candidate. After I found her, I started scowering the internet looking for reviews on her, and that's how I came upon this site. There are lots of members on here that have purchased from Kirista (that's the breeder's name) and had wonderful experiences! My new little girl is finally flying in on Tuesday, and I can't wait! |
