A question for you sink bathers.... What technique do you use? When you give your Yorkie a bath in the sink, do you fill it like a bathtub, use it like a shower with the spray nozel, or a bit of each? |
Sam seems like to the spray better than the bath. |
My girls aren't too fond of standing in the water, but do just fine with the empty sink and sprayer. It is also much easier to keep the water from being sucked up their nose by spraying towards their back with the head tipped upward!!!! |
I fill up both sides of the sink aout half way ith water then put them in. I bathe in one side and then put them in the clean water for the rinse. The spray nozzle, and draining the water is their favorite part. Bernie would stand there for hours while I spray him off...and he loves to splash in the water while it is draining out. Now after reading a post from Nancy1999, I will be zapping the towel in the microwave for about a minute for the drying! |
Tucker would never stay in the sink if I filled it with water! |
I'm an empty sink, use the sprayer, dog washer!! But, I use a piece of rubber matting like you put under throw rugs. I cut it to size and put it in the bottom of the sink. The water runs right through it, but it gives Scooter traction and he's not as nervous! It's made all of the difference in the world for him!! |
Sink empty but I don't have a sprayer so I use a cup. |

I bought a bath tub mat and cut it down to fit my sink, cut a hole in the middle for the drain. Gracie always is very nervous in the "bath", but when I let the water out and shower her to rinse she cooperates much better. Maybe she doesn't like standing in the water? |
