Docking Would you purchase a YT with full tail? |
Not while the standard is to get them docked. But, that is just me. |
Tail or docked tail, he or she will still be able to be spoiled and loved;). So yes I would! |

My pup Mika has her full tail. It is illegal here in the Uk to dock dogs tails just for appearance. It can still be done by a vet for medical reasons of course and I think workings dogs are still allowed to be docked. Personally I prefer all dogs to keep their tails, they are just so expressive! A dog without a tail can't communicate fully, they are still beautiful of course, I just think that we shouldn't take away what nature gave them without good reason! ( A dogs health and safety being a good reason as is the case with neutering!) I also have an Old English Sheepdog who was born before docking was banned, however he is not docked and I am so grateful to the breeder for that, his tail never stops wagging!!! |

I would want mine docked as long as it's the standard also. I do notice that a lot of show breeders are docking the tails a little longer than they used too and I like that - my dogs tails are still obvious, though docked. :) |

Not That Sophisticated Okay, I'm not the most sophisticated dog person in the world, so I really don't understand why the standard is to have tails docked. Who decides this stuff? What is the actual purpose of docking a dog's tail? Pixel's tail was already docked before I was okayed for her. Otherwise, I would have asked them not to change her a bit. It doesn't make sense to me. She wags her little stubby tail and it's very cute, but I always feel sorry that she doesn't have the whole tail just because "somebody" decided she shouldn't. |
I VERY much prefer a docked tail. There is just something about a properly docked medium-length tail with the hair flowing over it like a fountain that is just adorable and gorgeous. And believe me...docked tails can be just as expressive! I believe it gives the Yorkshire Terrier a neat and clean appearance. I hope the standard never changes here in the US. |

I like stubby tail especially when it wags. |
Purchase one that way? No. Not that I think that there is anything wrong with a Yorkie who has a full tail, case I do think they are cute....but, if I am PAYING for something I might as well get exactly what I want, and I do prefer the docked tails as that is the breed standard. |
