Canidae Lamb & Rice --- LOVE IT!!!

I normally pick up a few sample bags of Wellness, Pure Reward, Merrick's, etc....and sometimes use these as treats as I know they are good quality!

I said Canidae since that's what Kirby gets. Canidae Platinum. But Ginger and Bernie eat Pinnacle Trout since Ginger is allergic to every other protein under the sun.

:eek: Oh my Gosh!! I've been feeding my girls Purina One Natural Blends-Chicken and Oatmeal formula. I also give them chicken breast and cooked veggies mixed in with it. They seem to like it, Their breeder recommended Canidae, but they wouldn't eat it for me. What is the very best kibble for yorkies?:confused:

Purina and others aren't very high quality foods...check out www.dogfoodanalysis.com and do some research there, as well as other sources from the internet. The dog food analysis website will give you some ideas about what is in the foods, and the common practices of the food manufacturers so that you understand how to read the ingredient labels. Most people here on YT recommend a 4-5 star food from that site-a 6 star food is too rich for yorkies, and is better suited for larger, working breed dogs.

Does the Orijen Six fish smell like fish? Is it good for allergies? I think my maltese has allergies.

I am feeding Science Diet small bites, assuming that it was a good food since it is all that my vet sells. I just looked at that website and found out it's only 1 star! :eek: I havent seen any of the 4 star foods here in Manhattan!

it smells like fish but the smells usually goes away after a while so it doesn't bother us. We also brush their teeth every night. it is excellent for allergies. tumi is allergic to chicken and she is doing great on NV raw Lamb, Venison and the orijen kibbles. My girls just love their raw and their kibbles!

Thanks, I am in the process of trying to decide what to change to, but it is a big decision. I ordered Wellness puppy dry and adult dry, and Natural Variety (or is it Natrues Variety) freeze dried raw chicken. I should have waited and kept reading before ordered. Canidae is what they are eating rightnow, but I can't get Gracie to eat much of it, and Hannah and Bentley is not at all excited about it, but they will eventually eat it.
