Canon T2i? Any reviews? I ordered it but on wait list. I am wondering how hard it is going to be for a beginner? My daughter takes a class next semester and I was hoping she could take it to class and learn then show me. |

I dont know about that camera model personally...my neice has it and loves it! I have the canon rebel xsi....i think they are the similar but mine does not have video. I absolutely love my camera! It takes awesome pictures. I would recommend that you take a basic photography class as well because the camera can give you some even more awesome pictures than just putting it in the auto mode. I think you will be happy with your camera! I love mine...i have been taking digital photography classes since i got mine and have learned so much....in fact my next class starts up this wednesday and i cant wait! Good luck with it! :D |

3 Attachment(s) Sorry! I just noticed this thread. I have a Canon T2i. I love it!!! I haven't used many of the features because I don't know how but I love how it takes pictures. I use it mostly on auto, sports, or flash off. I want to learn how to use it on manual but I think I need to take classes. I did upgrade the lens and got an external flash. It was great right out of the box. No learning curve. Here's a couple of pictures I've taken with it. They lose so much in resizing them to post though. Feel free to write me if you'd like to know more. |

I looked at some reviews written by people who on a Canon board of a photography forum I used to go to daily. Because of YT, I rarely go there now, but it's a place I still trust. I'm partial to Nikon, but the Canons are also excellent. It really comes down to what is going to feel more comfortable in your hands. The T2i is a small camera that has a crop sensor. Most digital slrs have crops sensors. In the Canons, if you take the film SLRs, you multiply the focal length of the lens used by 1.6 This means that a 50mm lens on a film camera is like an 80mm lens on a digital SLR. The sensor is smaller than on a film SLR. This camera seems to be a wonderful camera from what I can see. It handles low light really well, which is really nice if you want to take photos without a flash. People rave about the video. You asked if the camera will be too much for you. It may have more features than you will use, but there are easy settings on the camera that you can also use until you learn more. I think you will probably love it. It is an 18mp camera, which most people love. You can get a lot of detail in landscape and nature shots with that many megapixels. You will need a lot of memory cards and probably should have a backup drive for your computer. Both of them are not expensive. I personally think 18mp is a little much for a crop sensor, but only because I am very picky. Basically, the more megapixels you have on a sensor site, the more detail. If you have too many, then you can have a little more noise (grain). It wouldn't stop me from getting the camera, but I'd probably have to pursue it a little further. This is a really nice camera for the money.
