Nikon DS3000? 2 Attachment(s) I just recently received a Nikon DS3000. I don't feel that I am getting better quality pictures than a standard digital camera. (this may just be operator error ) I realize I need to purchase additional lenses, any suggestions on which one I should add first that will make the most difference? If it helps I take most pictures outside and try to capture detail up close. Here is what I am getting and just don't feel it's as good as it should be. (maybe I'll take a class or two) Attachment 320076Attachment 320077 |
No help here LOL I recently bought the same camera never took a pic and gave it to my daughter at Easter time when we met up in the smokies she loves it and has made great pics. I am very challenged electronically  i love your pics i am a nature lover |
Which lens is on the camera now, btw? Are you shooting in full automatic? That might be the issue right there. If you look at your other shooting options, you could play around and try "close-up" or "landscape" etcetera, depending upon what you're shooting. I pretty much always shoot in Aperture-priority mode, it's my favorite. |
I like your subject in the picture. :) The overall quality of the picture is far superior to anything I could get using my little point and shoot, but maybe you could add some depth and oomph playing with settings as Ann suggested. |

I currently have the standard AF-S 18-55mm. I have been using some settings and trying to familiarize myself with the look that each give. I am gonna try using the AP mode and close-up to see what I can get. The manual seems to be my BF right now until I can memorize ea effect. |

LOL! I know right? I had to because he sits there and shows off for me everyday. :D So I though he deserves a name. |
I've had this camera for almost a year now and I've produced some gorgeous photos with it, I bought myself a book for tips and just take photos of EVERYTHING (much to some peoples annoyance) for practise. I have the same lense and feel the next one up would be a lot better. 55-200. |

It was a book I saw in a UK, Maplin store called "The Digital Photography Handbook" I'm sure there are many more books the same. |
