I thought it would be nice to share some tips and tricks from people who use photoshop.
I'll start, The liquify filter.
I have learned that the Liquify filter can be a great all around tool.
First photo the original, 2nd one after liquify tool. See the difference.

I am all about the Clone Brush But i have paint shop pro i don't know if photoshop has that.

Have you always wanted to see what a tattoo would look like on you? You can do it in photoshop. Heres a pic before and after I added a tattoo. Let me know if you would like to learn how.

Are there different versions of Photoshop? If I was to go shopping for Photoshop, would I have to choose between different ones or is there only one.

I think it depends mostly on how much money you want to spend.

I'd like to know how to use the liquify filter! I have CS2 as well. I'm more of an Illustrator person.

In the liquify filter I use the forward warp tool, change size of brush and density to your liking. play around with it.
You can widen , lengthen, make fat or skinny. The bigger the brush size the more area moves.
Heres a photo from a horse show, the original then the one that makes him slimmer using the liquify, foreward warp. Just load a pic you want to work on then hit filter then liquify. forward warp is the first one in the list

Oooo! Cool thread idea! I like to use "actions" sometimes and there are a lot of free ones out there if anyone is interested. I downloaded a bunch from "Pioneer Woman" :).

I didn't know that a person could alter a picture like this....yes, I know, I am behind the times. We do not have any extras on our laptop.

Hey darlin' - you can do this online a little too....argh...not sure totally which programs have some editing stuff? Picasa? Is Lightroom online or only on hardrive? What else....anyone?

Ooooh, another great thread in the works! I had no idea you could do some of this stuff, either. I might've been in a lot more photos if I'd known about the liquify filter. :p

I don't know for sure, bc I have Photoshop CS2 (which is really complicated for me :p)...but I've heard Picasa and lightroom is more user friendly, I believe...it'd probably be wayyyy more suited to me!

Another trick is if you have a pic and want to add a bow to your yorkies just plain rubber band . You can add a bow by using a bow tube in Paint shop pro.
Here are the pics without a bow and with the bow added using a tube. This is very easy to do.

Another great thing photoshop does is selective coloring. Make your photo black and white and then color the part you want to be in color. Heres a couple of examples, this is not hard to do .

My daughter and i were just discussing how this is done. Can you explain? Which tools and what are the steps? What is it called, I'd like to see what other programs offer this.

You can also go to Picnik - Photo editing the easy way, online in your browser and do this along with several other things... The basic features are all free and you don't have to download anything. Some things you would have to pay for but there is a lot on there you don't have to... :)
