From the research I gathered, there is HARDLY a difference between the XSi and the XS. I have the XS and LOVE it! It's all about the lens you get anyways! :)

Wow, I've been away for a week and come back to find so much great new info. This is such an amazing thread! Megan, I started out writing everything down, too. But after a while there was so much great info that I just come back and re-read again & again. I can't wait until I can get my new camera! :D

I got the Nikon D90 with the 18-200 zoom lens. It doesn't end though. Now, I'm looking at lenses. Next up is a macro/micro. Decisions, decisions. Found out they're good for portraits too.

Rebel T1i 75-300 lens issues
 
Hey everyone, I'm wondering if some of you that have this lens can give me some pointers. I haven't had alot of time to mess around with it but I go the 75-300 lens & I have tried to take pics and it all looks like a big blur when I zoom in on something. What is the best setting to have the camera on & what exactly am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help!

That's the setup I want to get to start with. Do you have the lens yet? How are you liking it?

I got the camera body last Wednesday, & the lens on Friday. So, I don't have a lot of experience with it. So far, so good.

The only difference that i can see is the XSi can take larger pictures like for a 10X14, and the XS is up to 8x10. 10 megapixels on the XS and 12 on the XSi. I wish now that I would have gotten the XSi and also the second lens that they were offering at a discount when I bought the camera.

I got mine from amazon, it was cheaper there.

I also just learned the the XSi has a wireless remote feature, whch the XS does not.

I was not paying attention when I ordered the wiereless remote. Thankfully it was not a ton of money. If anyone can use it I will send it to you. It works with the Nikon D40 and D70 also, along with several other models

Well.. I went with the Canon XS. I figured I'd put the money into a nicer lense since that seems to be pretty important.

I have no idea how to use this thing. Time to open up the instruction book!

The instruction book is written in photoese and I found it very hard to understand the whys.

I posted a couple of websites earlier, that I found to be very helpful, and what one did not cover, the other one did. The one site also has a forum. You can ask questions..
