Different chili recipes

I thought maybe we could share some because I get bored with regular chili, but its easy and the whole family will eat it.

I made this tonight, I added a chopped red pepper to the recipe... I thought it was ok, but the guys liked it a lot. Wsh it had a bit more flavor. Bt overall, pretty good!

White Bean Chicken Breast Chili Recipe - Allrecipes.com

For toppings I chopped up green onion, cilantro, sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese. Served with fresh Italian bread.

I just made this one recently. It was good. :) We were looking for something different and this one worked for us!

Ingredients:

2 1/2 lb. lean chuck, ground
1 lb. lean pork, ground
4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 cup finely chopped onion
8 oz. hunt's tomato sauce
1 cup water
1 can beer (12 oz.)
3 Tablespoons chili powder
2 Tablespoons instant beef bouillon (or 6 cubes)
2 Tablespoons cumin, ground
2 teaspoons paprika
2 teaspoons oregano leaves
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon coriander, ground
1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa
1/2 teaspoon Louisiana hot sauce
1 teaspoon cornmeal
1 teaspoon flour
1 teaspoon warm water

Directions:

1. In a large saucepan brown 1 1/4 pounds of the ground meat (the beef and the pork), drain the fat.

2. Remove meat (the beef and the pork). Brown the rest of the ground meat, drain all but 2 tablespoons of the fat.

3. Add the garlic and onion, cook and stir until tender.

4. Add the other half of the meat and the tomato sauce, water, beer, chili powder, bouillon, cumin, paprika, oregano, sugar, coriander, cocoa, and hot sauce. Mix well.

5. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer, covered , for 2 hours.

6. In a small bowl, stir together the cornmeal and flour, then add the warm water and mix well.

7. Stir into chili and cook, covered, for an additional 20 minutes.

That sounds sooooo yummy!!!
I may have to make that!

Can I make it with turkey burger? I don't eat ground beef at all... the only thing I worry about with turkey burger is lack of fat to drain or use, but this sounds like it has enough moisture in it so I think I can get away with turkey burger without a problem.

White Bean Chicken Breast Chili Recipe - Allrecipes.com

For toppings I chopped up green onion, cilantro, sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese. Served with fresh Italian bread.

When I make white chili, I marinate the chicken breasts in just a bit of zesty Italian dressing before cooking. It makes the meat super tender, and adds just a touch of zing to the flavor. If I'm in a rush, I use ground chicken and add about 2 tbsp of the dressing in the skillet while it's browning.

Regular chili? I'm no help at all. I cheat and use Carroll Shelby's chili mix. You'd never know it wasn't homemade, and only takes 30 minutes start to finish.

Here's a link to a chili we LOVE!
For the Love of Cooking » Beef, Black Bean and Chorizo Chili

Basically it's a regular chili with an added kick of chorizo. :D

My 'homemade' chili is so pathetic, you almost don't even want to know. I am lazy. LOL

I take a lb of raw turkey burger and 3 large cans of crushed tomatoes and a large can of diced tomatoes. A bag of frozen mixed peppers, 1/2 a bag of frozen diced onions, 3 cans of kidney beans and 2 cans of pink beans (all smaller cans), black pepper, chili powder and cumin to taste....

I think thats it. I leave it in the crockpot for about 6-8 hours on high and stir it whenever I remember its in there. LOL

sooooo pathetic huh? People eat though and tell me they like it. LOL

If you think yours is pathetic, here is my pathetic, though easy, recipe for chili.

2 lbs ground beef or turkey or venison
3 cans Hunt's stewed tomatoes (original recipe with onion and celery added)
3 cans Campbell's condensed tomato soup
1 Large can Hanover light or dark kidney beans (partially drain liquid - about 1 cup) (or three small cans - can mix up the beans then and have both light and dark - if using the small cans, drain one can completely)
Chili powder
Cayenne pepper powder
Salt
Black pepper
Garlic salt
Onion salt or one small fresh onion (diced) if we have available.

Brown ground meat and drain well.
While meat is browning, I toss all above ingredients into a crock pot. I don't even measure the dry spices - just throw some in and taste it.
Let the crock pot do its job for 6-8 hours. Yummy and even better the next day!

Mmmmm I love chicken in Italian dressing! Thanks for the idea, maybe that is what the above recipe needs, something to give it a little punch or flavor.

Love it... hey it sounds good and I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who takes the easy way out. It takes me literally 10 mins to make my chili LOL I can't even pretend I spent all day cooking it....My hubby watches me open cans LOL I don't even cook the meat first. Just right in the crockpot raw. LOL

Another friend just mentioned this one:
2 chicken breasts
1 can of corn (undrained)
1 can of black beans (drained and rinsed)
1 can of Rotel (undrained)
1 pkg ranch dry seasoning
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp onion powder
1 tbsp chili powder
1 8oz pkg cream cheese

Place the chicken breasts in the crock pot, top with corn, black beans, Rotel and seasonings. Mix well. Top with the cream cheese. Cook on low for 6-8 hrs. Shred chicken with 2 forks and stir everything together well.

I served it over basmati rice, but it would be really good with tortilla chips, or even on it's own! Next time I'm gonna bake some potatoes and use it as a topping.

I am going to have to get some really lean ground meat and try your way - that would save me 10 minutes!
