Thanksgiving leftovers, what do you still have? It's the day after, and while my initial meal (lunch) with my dad's side of the family didn't yield any leftovers (Chinese restaurant meal where all the "adults" took home the extras), I do have a lot from our non-traditional dinner. I still have 3/4 of a rack of baby back ribs, a huge mound of mashed potatoes (Susi and Adi, you hear me? Come over!), the meat from one lobster tail (probably gonna be gone tonight), then BIL brought back crispy chow mein (not yet mixed), salt and pepper shrimp, and what I bought from the chinese market, and leftover pizza from lunch today. Too much food. =/ what do y'all have left? Leftover recipes? |
I have some very delicious mac n' cheese, beans and turkey. Love it! I like that your family had all those yummy nontraditional foods. It sounds like you guys had a nice time. :) Recently, I went to Publix and tasted one of those recipes that they make in the store and all the ingredients are on a shelf nearby. It was mashed pototatoes, corn, gravy, and fried chicken in a pan with cheese over it. My husband LOVED it and someone could use their leftovers to do soemthing similar. I love Thanksgiving. :) Good thread starter. I can't wait to read about everyone's day. :) |
It's traditional for our family to eat chinese for Thanksgiving, we're Chinese! LOL |
I knew that you were Chinese but I did not know that Chinese people celebrate Thanksgiving with Chinese food. I love Chinese food. My husband is Italian so his family makes pasta and yummy Italian food so it is a nice change from my family. |

I love it. It is nice to add a special touch to Thanksgiving. I have no leftovers. I was sick so I didn't go see mom. She usually sends me home with the rest of the bird. I make soup, pot pie and the traditional next day turkey sandwich. My sister and I would put everything on it turkey, mash potatoes stuffing etc I know bread on bread. But very yummy lol |
We still have some turkey, pumpkin pie and 2 of the individual turtle cheesecake cupcakes that I made but I'm sure they will disappear today ;) The turkey will be used for lunch, the cupcakes for a snack with my afternoon coffee and the pie for desert tonight. We finished up the cream cheese crock pot corn, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole and cranberry sauce with dinner last night. I did buy 2 turkeys this year...cooked one for a home bound friend and kept the other for us since we don't usually bring home leftovers...my leftovers are from the 'extras' I made while cooking for our friend and making things to take to our son's house. And...I'm already searching for recipes for Christmas dinner :D |
