Fruits! My kids and I (hubby too) love fruits. BUT....I will only buy it (per hubby) if it is grown in the United States. :) Right now I just bought a bunch of fruits from Costco. Ranier Cherries, Red Grapes, Blueberries. My kids eat them like it's candy. I can't complain though and it's really sweet. Although I have to admit that the BEST strawberries I ever tasted were from Japan. But the food there is freshest and best I tasted around the world. Anybody have any great recipes for fresh fruit? I love apricot tart.(But hard to find here and only when in season) |
I just love mexican style fruit cocktails. Salt, chili and lime makes pretty much everything taste better. |

I stopped buying imported grapes when I heard the heavy load of pesticides they are sprayed with. I love dates!....I made a date and walnut bread, it was great with cream cheese! And date bars are awesome too! We usually have an assortment of fruit in the frig....fresh cut up pineapple, blueberries, kiwi, peaches, etc....We usually throw a combo of any three fruits (usually including a banana) in a bowl and then we sprinkle on toasted coconut for an easy, cool dessert. I'm wanting to try a fruit salsa made with pineapple but I haven't gotten around to it. I want to use it with some cinnamon chips..... |
I love fruit, too....especially the soft fruits :dribble: And of course WE only buy from the UK, it makes sense to buy as locally as you can, doesn't it. I go to a wonderful Farm Shop about 4 miles from us - everything's organic and can be traced to the grower within 10 miles, no pesticides, no rubbish...plus there are many acres of 'pick your own' according to season :). Unfortunately I'm now going to ruin this healthy topic by saying I adore raspberry pavlova.... :D x |
I recently tried a mango salsa. It was a mixture of sweet and hot. So delicious. I would love to find a good recipe. |

Use recipe as a guide......as I always do. Personal preference wins out (unless it's baking where you need precision...... I hate baking. :hide2:) |
