TAGINE Tangent 1 Attachment(s) Have any of you ever used a Tagine? It's basically a Moroccan cooking vessel. Most countries have their own version, but Africa gave us the Tagine and I love it!! Attachment 370495 I received one from Shinja in the GE after wanting one for years!! I have found quite a few recipes too, if anyone is interested! Tajine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia |
I had never heard of one, until you told me about them. It looks like it would make meats and other dishes so tender. |

I guess nobody has, uses, or is even curious about a Tagine :p I bet if I started the thread on capers I've been considering it would flop too :sidesplt: What are capers? |
Give it up Lisa. Even I don't have a tangine. Now you are just bragging. Capers on the other hand..... |

I have one:) I haven't used it yet but I think I will tomorrow... Thanks for reminding me:) |
I have one. It basically cooks in the same way as a Dutch oven, where the steam leaves the food, collects and condenses on the cooler lid, and then falls back into the food. It's very easy to cook meats low and slow with a very tender result. My Dutch oven is honkin' big and isn't practical when cooking for two, but the tagine's smaller size makes it easy to cut back and cook smaller amounts. |
I was wondering since I only eat some fish and vegetables...is it good for that? I will need to look into this a little further.:) |
