Nutritional info at restaurants, do you believe them? I don't, not for a second! At Chik-fil-a, they say a chicken, egg and cheese bagel is 480 cal. A bagel is roughly 300 cals, a slice of cheese about 80, an egg without butter or oil to cook it roughly 60, that's 440. I'm supposed to believe a patty of deep fried chicken is the remaining 40 cals? Yeah right! Then today I had lunch at Chipotle. A salad with barbacoa. I looked at the nutrition info. Everything on the sheet looked so "healthy". Pinto beans happen to be cooked with bacon, yet only have 1g of fat per serving? puh-leeze. Carnitas 8g of fat? WTF. then there are the fast service restaurants that post the fat and calorie contents on their menu, only to see a little * that says fat content shows saturated fat only, and only on the protein of the item in question! OMGWTF really? I'm calling BS! Who's with me?! |

I don't trust them...McDonalds puts sugar in their salads??? I honestly quit eating out and started cooking at home. I've lost 17 pounds and 26 inches overall in the last 6 weeks. (if you know me, I haven't cooked at home in the last 5-6 years!!!) |
You also have to look at serving size. Carnitas is 8g of fat for 4 oz of meat. 4 oz isn't much....they probably put double that on whatever you order, 6 oz is a serving of chicken. Overall, meats really don't have a lot of fat if you stick to a true serving size. Think of it this way...your stomach is supposed to be the size of your fist. Anything you eat that's bigger than that stretches your stomach and over time, it stays big, therefore meaning you have to eat more to fill you up. Start paying attention to serving sizes and you'll notice all restaurants overfeed us lol. |
490? No way, I'm thinking more like 600+. And that's not counting the honey roasted bbq sauce I put on it. Salty is not something I would say about the CEC bagel though. But you wanna talk sodium? The barbacoa was SO salty! Their info said 510mg, yeah right. It was so salty I had to put so much lemon on it just to make it palatable. |

Also, I found a plain 3 1/2 inch bagel for 190 calories.... A 3 inch for 153. Not sure how big their bagels are. I've honestly never eaten there. I dont eat chicken....they eat their own poop lol. |
LOL really? yuck. The regular size bagels I get are all the same size. The bags in the market say they are all about 300 cals. The bagel thins are about 100-150 but don't have the satisfying "chew" of a real grown up bagel. So I'd just eat half a real bagel than a whole bagel thin. Chik Fil A on the other hand, their bagels do seem a tad smaller, but just a tad. and they are "whole grain" with sunflower seeds on top. But what gets me is the variation in the size of the fried chicken patty I get. Sometimes it's minuscule, other times hanging over the edge of the bagel. |
I believe that they disclose the absolute minimum calories/fat etc that they yhink they can get away with...then baste with butter to improve flavor  |
You are almost always over eating if you eat out cause portion size and sauces. Thats why we eat out one day at the most and we eat better more nutritious dinners at home. I always serve a fruit or vegetable or salad with every meal and thats something you dont get eating out |
