Anyone have a Juicer ? I'm on an unprocessed food kick and have been buying almost everything at farmers' markets and/or Whole Foods. The only sugar in my diet is fruit, and it's minimal. After a year of going to the allergist and being told I'm allergic to almost nothing, I'm frustrated. I've tossed the drugs, steroids, nasal sprays and sublingual allergy drops in favor of unprocessed food and a limited yeast intake. There is a huge difference already, but, I'm still having some symptoms. I'm wondering if a vegetable juice breakfast together with something like hard boiled eggs would do me some good. Does anyone have a juicer? If so -- What kind do you have? What are your favorite vegetable juices to make? Did it make you feel great when you started? I want to know everything! |
Pricilla juices every day. She and BF just bought a pretty high end juicer. There is a thread in off topic somewhere...... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/off...one-juice.html found it! |

Ohhh thank you!! I'll check it out. Someone today told me she juices beets and lemon and carrots. She puts it over ice and drinks it for a refreshing drink in the summer. She also mentioned apples, carrot and ginger. It just sounds so healthy and if the produce is organic and fresh it would be! |
I have the breville juice fountain - I think it might be the compact one? It is super easy to use & clean up is very easy!! This website is great for recipes! Juicing Recipes from Juicing For Weight Loss They have everything from veggie recipes to fruit recipes to detox & cleanse recipes to weight loss recipes!! Its all there! Do certain foods give you a reaction? Do you think you might have allergies or a digestive issue? |
I bought a Breville juicer and tried it out. I made carrot-ginger-beet-lemon-apple juice. I felt great....for a few hours......and then it did not agree with me. I'm assuming I will have to adapt to this. |

You may want to note though, that the juice you make should be consumed in that same day. MIL for some reason is juicing like a madwoman and putting in like 50% celery (YUCK!) so no one is drinking the extra juice she bottles, and if we did, it'd be of no use nutritionally. So juice one jug full per day, and you should be good. |
I too have the Breville Juice Fountain Plus....I paid $120.00 for it...we love it...I have 4 satsuma trees in my yard and I harvest hundreds of pounds of satsumas every year....they were getting ahead of me, so I got the juicer so we were not wasting all those satsumas!!! I think I was supplying all of South Houston/Pearland with satsumas and still had tons of them left over!!!! Now, we juice the extras! Havent really done veggies yet.....I like V-8, and it is quick and easy to open a can! |
I have a Hurom Juicer, expensive but worth it,(easy to clean) I juice fruit and veg everyday, as long as I have a good supply of apples and carrots I just add what ever else is seasonal, dont have a favourite mix but prefer sweet tastes, some vege juices taste a bit yuk but a drop of lemon juice helps. Great Juice books out there as well 6 of which I own (recipe book-aholic I am) One thing with juicing don't use the expensive prime fruit go for the seconds or thirds even and freeze the pulp from the vege and add to stews etc or into the compost nothing gets wasted. |
