Are You Ladies Exotically Salty.......? Or do you just prefer ordinary run of the mill Morton's girl holding an :umbrella: ? I know P and I (and Shinja and Elizabeth) have shared extensive discussions about salt. I also had a rather short one with Michelle  She said "Isn't salt just.......salty???" How many types of salt 1) Have you heard of 2) have you tried 3) have you cooked with 4) do you own? Come on Ladies ~ Lets get SALTY (even if salty language is the best you can contribute :sidesplt:) |
1 Attachment(s) Attachment 355509 I personally have right now: Smoked sea salt Himalayan pink salt Hawaiian brown salt Kosher salt Black Hawaiian salt How do you use the different salts? Can you tell a big difference like I can? What salt is your cooking worth? ;):D |
LOL...I did a little research after our "discussion" I guess salt is not just salty:p The only two I have tried is regular table salt:rain::umbrella: and sea salt. I didn't care for sea salt too much. It was not really too salty but more of a bitter tasting salty. Maybe it was the brand I bought:rolleyes::) |
Well my first taste of fancy salt was when I was about 19. Sel de mer. The french fine fine sea salt. I think it was the Baleen brand with the whale on the can. I thought it was so expensive, well compared to regular sodium chloride, it is! After I got into watching Food Network, you know back when it wasn't "cool" yet, I got interested in pink himayalan. I scored some at Ross a few years ago, and I still have an itty bitty left. So I recently just bought some Alaea Hawaiian red salt. It has smaller crystals and is not as strong as the himayalan. Really interested in trying some black salt. Also eating a meal served on a salt slab. But that is way expensive. |
Oh! I also have Zihuatanejo sea Salt from Mexico! |

Heh heh now I gotta reason to go back to Ross. I wanna pick up this pan too. Ever heard of terra cotta pans? I forget the brand. I need a pan bc there is only one pan left in the house, and BIL always uses it for greasy bacon or big giant steaks and never cleans it. I just need one for my eggs. Or I want to get a cast iron pan. |
