"When we get lebne from our dairy company, Palo Alto Egg, the purple topped container says its Kefir Cheese inside. Lebne is sometimes called cheese because it's so solid, so thick. It is yogurt but it's strong and hearty, sour and pungent, rich and bright. It's like Greek yogurt, but even denser, if you can imagine" http://eggbeater.typepad.com/shuna/2...my-new-fa.html It's sometimes spelled lebne, labne, or lebneh. It's like kefir! I know you know what that is! |

Ooh this sounds so good: "We like to spread some labna on a plate, drizzle it with mint oil and eat it with eggs scrambled with diced tomatoes, onions, feta and za'atar or sumac. Served with grilled pita it's a great breakfast. We also spread it on toasted whole grain english muffins and drizzle it with honey, with a good amount of freshly ground black pepper on top. Really good with mangoes and strawberries." Uses for labne - Home Cooking - Chowhound Oh man all these lovely photos! lebne |
