I cant get my Ten month old to poop outside Hello Yorkie lovers .. I have a ten month old yorkie(DUNKIN) who will not poop outside, or on the pee pad . He likes goin in the bathroom on the floor. I have gotten him to go out side but most of the time he goes in the bathroom.. My boyfriend and I would love your help ... thanks Terra, Shane and Dunkin ... (this is my first yorkie) |
Put the pad in the bathroom. :D It is much easier if you paid attention to when he goes. They are very regular. Mine all go first thing in the morning...and again around 5. Those are the times I know they must go outside. When you take him...make sure you walk him around...walking stimulates their bowels. |

Hi, I have the same problem with my 5 month old boy, Kingsley......he loves being outside....BUT will come in the house and poop in the bathroom ....I thought I was alone with this problem.....lolol he pees outside but will also come and use the pad...but not to poop... does anyone know how to address this |
I had this problem with Couver when he was 5 months old. He preferred to poop inside, but would potty outside. I found that putting him on a retractable leash when I walked him helped. He needed more room to walk around and figure things outside. I also figured out his poop schedule, and I make sure to take him out often. :) |
Is your little guy free fed or do you feed twice a day? Free feeding can be hard to work with to get them house broken. If he eats two (or three) meals a day, you can take him outside after each meal. If he doesn't poop, keep him confined indoors for a bit and take him outside again. Keep doing it till he gets the idea. It can seem like a lot of work but you have to be consistent and it will pay off!!:) |
