Help finding Service Training!! Help! I need info and any leads on service training for my Yorkie male. For seizures and migraines. I briefly met a couple out and about one day whose little guy was trained in both. Though it could've been a clever ruse to bring him into the store!! I actually have debilitating migraines and have briefly read a story of a service Yorkie who was trained in that as well. If anyone has any info for Max or I it would be appreciated!! Thank You! Hi and Welcome to Yorkie Talk! I have three yorkies that are service animals and they can definitely be trained to assist you with your disability. The law that allows service animals access into any public place is the Americans with Disabilities Act and I would suggest you first do a search and read the actual law. Your disabilites are "qualifying disabilities" under the law and you can find a professional to help you train your yorkie by going to Delta Society's webaite as they have a list by state of trainers. Although the law does not require professional training, due to the nature of your disability, you would be best served to have a professional work with you in my opinion. If you have any other questions feel free to PM me as I am glas to help. |
Service Training Help Hi SoCalYorkie! Thanks so much for the information. This will really be helpful! What part of So Cal are you? I will be in Anaheim for the week, but the vet advised Max to stay with a really neat woman who has a grooming shop and boards the kids at home. Thanks again and hope you are enjoying your weather!! Max & his mom. :animal-sm |
