Home Needed for my 2 cats... 2 Attachment(s) This is very hard for us, but we need to find a new home for our cats. I'd rather not go into the reason why on a public forum, but if someone is interested in them and they want to know, I will tell you. Now, I'll tell you about my kitties. :) Muffin is an 11 year old black short haired. You would never know how old she is by the way she acts - she's full of energy and loves batting around tennis balls. She does like to go outside from time to time. However, I would prefer it if her new owner didn't allow her to go outside. I know she won't leave my yard because of how long she's been here, but it would be dangerous if she got out in an unfamiliar area. Muffin thinks she is the queen of the world - and expects to be treated like it. :) Smokey is a 9 year old Persian Mix. He's a very pretty cat. He thinks he is a dog. If there isn't enough food in his bowl, he'll either bang his head against it, or come meow at you until it's filled to his liking. ;) He is never allowed outside, because I'm worried he would take off. He is VERY shy, so it'll probably take him a week or two to warm up to you. and even then, you may not see him very much. Whenever we go away, and we have people come over to watch them, they always say something like "are you sure you have 2 cats? I've only seen one." So he does like to keep to himself when he's around people he doesn't know. But once he does get to know you, he is very sweet. There's nothing he loves more than getting his head rubbed. Once every 1-2 months, we give them a little bit of tuna water as a snack (the water that you squeeze out of tuna cans). They love it. :) They're both fixed, and are litterbox trained. They're free to a good home - I love them more than any dollar amount in the world, so I'm not going to try to put a price on them. They will come with a bag of Purina cat food. We WILL NOT ship them. They both get along with kids, other cats, and dogs. (and Muffin REALLY loves elderly people.) The pictures attatched are of Muffin. When we get new batteries for the camera, I'll take some of Smokey. I would really prefer it if they went together. They're buddies. If you'd like to be their new mommy or daddy, please PM me, post here, or email me at Meganshook48[at]yahoo.com. Thanks! |

Aww Megan, I'm sorry you have to part with your kitties. I know how hard that is. I wish I could take them, I love animals, but I have way too many right now. I'm sure you will find them the perfect home where they will be as loved as they are now. |
Thank you guys. :) I was (and still kind of am) worried that I'm going to be seriously flamed for getting rid of the cats after so long. But there really is no choice in the matter. My friend Catherine gave me the names of a bunch of foster families around here. I'm keeping those in mind, but I'd rather be giving them to somewhere where I know that they will be a part of the family perminantly - not just until a real home is found for them. |

Sorry for you (& the kitties). I know this must be awfully hard for you.:( |
So sorry you have to re-home your kitty babies. I'm sure you'll find great homes for them. Good luck with everything. |
Im so sorry about all you had to go thru.. how incredibly tough.. :( I hope you find them both great homes to go to soon!! (which im sure you will cuz they seem like great cats!!!) |
I would like to help you but I already have 11 cats. Have you tried local nursing homes? Some of them like to have pets around for the residents. There are a lot of rescues that take in and rehome cats. You can look on Petfinder and email different rescues. If you lived in Virginia I might know someone to take them. She has a sanctuary for elderly an unadoptable cats. She takes some from the shelter I work. If I can find someone in NJ I will let you know. |
GOOD LUCK MEGAN !! You will never be bashed for this - anyone who knows you knows how much you love animals and I hope everything is ok with you - I'm sending you a pm and hugs |
Oh no! That sounds like a difficult situation. I have 13 rescue cats, so I don't have room for any more. Good luck finding a home! |
Good luck Megan and I hope that your babies find very loving homes soon :) I don't know why on earth anyone would ever bash you for this, anyone here who knows you at all knows how much you love ALL of your babies :) Only you know what your situation is and what is best for YOU. Big hugs sweetie, I know this has got to be hard on you. |
2 Attachment(s) Alrighty, so I'm SERIOUSLY desperate to find new homes for them now. We need to find them new homes in the next 2-3 weeks, or they may end up having to go to a no-kill shelter (which would honestly just kill me). They don't have to go together, they just need places to live. :( We can drive an hour or so to meet someone if that would make it easier. There is still no charge for them. There are pictures of Muffin in the first post, these are of Smokey. |
