Jenn218.....just for you and your daughter 3 Attachment(s) Here are pics of mommy's stinky poo :p Enjoy  |
OMG!!! Isn't she the prettiest thing ever! Thanks Jess! The last picture w/ Bobbie is adorable! Our black lab is so dark, he is so hard to photograph! Still no luck on my end! But that is okay - good things come to those who wait - but we are finding that we have a hard time waiting! (hee, hee) My daughter has said that she would get a Yorkie.....or a Chi....or a Pom....Ha! She is so desperate for that little black poodle though......she WILL go for one of the others (she needs a little companion), but we are holidng out for her. Her birthday is April 20th....but I just don't know what we will do or find by then. |

Melody is jet black but at times looks grayish because of the flash ;) I shaved her off completely a few weeks ago because her pom poms were looking a little 'nappy'. I let her coat grow for 2 months and finally took her in yesterday to get groomed. She sends you lots of poodle kisses and will be praying a little black girl comes your way soon! ;) |
Jess, she is beautiful!! Just beautiful! Do you have any pictures when she doesn't "look good" - if that makes sense - I know there is no way she has ever NOT looked good in her precious life, but something to give us some ideas of what to expect in between grooming. And have you ever tried to groom her yourself? I showed these pictures to Katelyn (my daughter) and she said.....ooooo, is she for sale.....look at her face....and those purple bows......ooooooo!!! |
hi..she just gorgeous.. |

These pics are her in between cuts (note she looks 'chubby' and starting to look unkept).........I bath her, clip her nails, and do ears/teeth once a week along with the cat and yorkie.........;) When she got spayed.......her coat got very wiry and dry.....it took months before it got better. I am using missing link on her and her coat is as if you are touching a cotton ball........so soft!! :) |
I forgot to mention that tear stains look brown on her black coat.......I am very careful to clean her eyes every day and that she doesn't eat food with 'beet pulp' in it. I used to keep her in a long coat during the winter but I found it didn't work out for us. She would constantly be panting because it was hot inside for her.......that is why I keep her completely shaved with pom poms.......she LOVES it more than I do!! |
Wow! She looks good in her "between" days! I don't know what I was expecting to see....but not a girl that looks that good! Yay! The brown stains, I can deal w/ --- its the red stains on the lighter colored dogs that I have issues w/. Is there anything special you use on her eye area? Missing Link has worked wonders on Mojo's coat. We also use various shampoos that seems to help too. (Kind of like hair, I have to switch up my shampoos often). Have you tried BioSilk too? There was a thread awhile back that said that was good - the person called the company and all. I have used it on and off on Mojo, because I know I love using it on my hair. And someone said something about coconut oil too - I bought some at our local health food store - I bought it to cook w/ it then used it on my hair and skin - it says you can! When/if we get one, she would be shaved too in the winter. We have two fireplaces and the central heat....PLUS, I love clothes and she would never be cold. Some people think that all dogs should keep a thick coat in the winter, but that isn't the case w/ us. I am glad to know that you do the same. Thanks for thinking of us and looking....we have had such a hard time. We thought we found a good place, but the one we wanted had a heart murmer (I think I told you that) and then she had another one, but again, there was something wrong - so the red flags went up there. Some places...well...we just knew that they were not good. I think there might be a rescue somewhere, but I haven't really thought much into that...I have been telling myself to get a PERFECT one for Katelyn....not that there is anything wrong w/ rescues - we have had many, and we have two rescued big dogs now - just, I want Katelyn to "raise" this one and grow up w/ her and have a healthy one. I'm a being selfish? Sometimes, when I think about it, I feel guilty, but the good Lord knows I have given my heart to those in need so many times and more than likely will continue to do so, but just not w/ this one. |

Absolutely! I totally understand. I too, prefer raising them from babies. My cat and 2 dogs plus the hamster get along like true brothers and sisters. I truly enjoy raising them from babies and the socialization part.... I am so blessed that all my pets have a wonderful personality. No barkers, no aggressive behavior, nothing I can complain about ;) As far as her eyes go..........I don't use anything special to clean them. Every single morning I use a little plastic comb to get the 'boogers' out and also before they go to bed. I never give them the opportunity to get in bad shape.........I have NEVER used the wipes or liquid they sell because I feel it might be too harsh. I have never used Biosilk..........I need to look into it. I only use petsilk midnight black for her and conditioner. Also, the tropiclean papaya plus. |
Got some "leads" today, so I have been calling and checking their sites. Yippee - some don't have sites and haven't answered yet. But I will keep trying. Wish us luck! We might get one by her birthday yet! |

Well, none of those were good...well, they were, but not any black little girls. Got a call back yesterday, but her girls were bigger ones (over 15lbs) and we want small for Mojo and my daughter. I think we are going to call off the search for awhile. I might just sell all of the girl stuff that we got - well, some of it...and see if that gets us any luck - you know, sell it all and then we find one. I might try that! HA! |
