Diarhea Please help!!! Hello I'm Joe Darlene's Husband, our Britt has diarrhea and I gave her 1ml Kaopactate it worked but now I think I did a bad thing because her friend the vet said that they put aspirin now on Kaopactate and Pepto and if I gave her too much it could be poison for her and may cause liver problems . Her friend the vet said it should be ok if I just gave her that amount and not repeat it and just watch out. She's 2.4lbs almost 9mos old Chi . I hope I did'nt do anything wrong. Help please my wife is going to be upset and she's at the hospital she had surgery and does'nt know what's going on. Advice PLEASE???? |
She will most likely be just fine since the dossage you gave her was so small. Your vet is correct on the kaopectate. My vet told me the same thing. I am sure she will be just fine. |
Hi Joe, I sometimes give mine Imodium although I don't know if that is bad :( I think if in small dosage, it should be fine. . . and as long as not too frequent I guess. Send our love to Darlene. |
Hi, the only thing I can suggest is to keep a very close eye on her. If she starts to act strange then don't hesitate on taking her to the vet. Hope she is ok ;) |
I think she will be fine. I give Cali and Maya Pepto when they have stomach upsets and they have been fine. |
Update on Britt She's doing ok now but she's now constipated!!! (Darlene will be home Monday.)Thank you for the help my wife really appreciates it! (me too!) Joe(Darlene's husband) |
herb Slippery elm helps the intestines heal. I used it on our dog. I had to increase the dosage for it to work. Also great for humans! |
I give Gracie one pepto tablet when she gets diarrhea. I then keep her on a bland diet of cooked chicken, rice, scrambled eggs, pasta and cottage cheese. She used to get diarrhea too often. Since I started feeding her yogurt every day the diarrhea has stopped. Plain canned Pumpkin is also good for diarrhea. |
