Captain is home!!
 

Our new boy, Captain, is finally home!! He is so adorable and we have fallen in love with him already. We took him to the vet today and he is very healthy, no issues at all. He is eating great, although we really want to switch his food once he is more comfortable here.

We are X-Penning him and he does great, no fussing or whining at all. Last night he slept in his crate all night long, no accidents or whining to get out. I am so proud of him and happy that the breeder waited until he was 12 weeks. Believe me when I say it makes a HUGE deal in their maturity.

I have started to teach him how to stack himself and he seems to be doing great. He is the sweetest little boy ever!!

Here are a few pictures of him...we don't have too many yet, as we have been so busy with him and the girls.

PS. The girls still have not gotten comfortable with him yet...they are very unsure. Sailor is very unhappy but did get down to play with him a little bit, Magic wants NOTHING to do with him. Hopefully in a few days they will get used to him and become good frients!!

Villette, We put little Captain under the "brothers & sisters" as he is a Silky. He will get to be about 10-11 pounds and has been placed with me as a show pup. His breeders (a couple) will be mentoring me as a learn to handle Captain in the show ring. (long story on how this happened so quickly :) - but I am sure glad it did!)

Some of you asked about my comment on "stacking". This term refers to the way you present the pup on the table/floor in the show ring. The breeders had already started working with him on this and he does a great job of it with them, now he needs to learn to work with me and I need to learn all the tricks to this process. Later I will begin to teach him to walk on a "lead" - which is what the handlers use in the ring to walk the pups.

My mentors have had great success with Silkies getting their AKC championships. (In fact all of this pups parents, grand parents, great grandparents and great great grandparents have their AKC championships and the grandfather also has American, International, Mexian & World championships and his father has his AKC championship and is still in the show ring and won 2nd in Best in Show last weekend in a show in New Mexico.)

I'm so happy for you and wanted to take this chance to say THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH FOR THE Toy you sent the girls !! Oh man - Chanel has been hiding it and pulling out ALL the stops - I found it in the bathroom behind the door today lol - she claimed it and is being the BIGGEST TOY HOG !!

I sneak it to Cheri when the TOY HOG isn't lookin !:D :D
