Bf's childhood cat sick... We got a text in the middle of the night from Tony's mama saying Minnie, his...hefty...calico cat that he got when he was ten, is extremely ill. They didnt think she''d make it throuugh the night so they brought her to an emergency vet, who said she has some type of infection. She got a shot and she won't eat or drink anything. Thhe vet suggested having her put down since she has other health problems. His mama took Minnie home and stayed up all night trying to force feed her. My boyfriend hides his pain pretty well...but this cat means so much to him, AND his mom. She called us crying and my heart is breaking..I just keep thinking, what if it was Luma? I feel so bad. What can be said to console them? Not much...I just pray Minnie gets better, I love her so much and I'm very sad, crying and don't want to go to work. Dramatic I know, but I have never had to deal with losing a pet before. |
oh im so sorry for you and tony. i so hope she gets better. it is very hard to think of losing a beloved furr baby. ill keep Minnie in my thoughts and prayers. |
Sending prayers for Minnie. We are going through the same here with our youngest DS who is 27 and has had his kitty Max since he was 12. Max has gastointestinal Lymphona ??sp and we are trying to keep him comfortable...but he is not responding to his treatments and has really went down hill since his last treatment a week ago. Sending thoughts and prayers your way. It is hard to see a long time furry family member get old:( |
I am so sorry. I totally understand. I have a hefty cat who is about 18 years old. You really do get attached and they become part of the family. Will keep you and your boyfriend in my thoughts and prayers. Michelle, I didn't read where Max wasn't doing well. I will continue prayers for him too. :( |
Minnie went back to the vet today. She isn't the friendliest cat, so the fact that she didn't give the vet a dirty look, let alone hiss, when he took her temp rectally, tells you she doesn't feel well :( Poor girl. She just lay there, extremely unlike herself. We're going to go home after work on Friday. It may be our last chance to see her :( |
