What a difference a few weeks make huh!!!

She is doing great after her eye removal. Our groomer's father has a shih tzu with one eye so Lisa is very well practiced at working around it. Disregard the date. I forgot to change it when I changed the batteries. I took this shot this morning.

She really is a little beauty. I love that sweet face - it makes me want to kiss it! :)

She looks so good, I'm happy she's made such a great recovery.

Thanks everyone.
We are all getting used to her low low vision. The vet says she can really only see dark vs light.

Adie has come to realize that Cassie can't help it and has eased up on her. She isn't nearly as rough with her as she guides her toward the back door. And now I can tell her to go get Cassie and she does. No matter what I need her for.:littleang

Touhy (the cat) is even more gentle with her and that is saying something. (We are beginning to suspect that Touhy is the devil.):bigeyes:

We can't help but laugh at Cassie sometimes when she is misdirected. She tends to beg for food from empty chairs and of course she still thinks the fridge is her mommy. (NO comments BonBon.) LOL She is also doing well outside but we really watch her an protect her out there. We don't want her to get lost and then be scared. I can't imagine what that would feel like and I don't want her to go through it.

Oh she looks really good. She looks kinda like my Taylor but he has a bit more black on him. I'm so happy that Cassie is doing so well & no more pain. What a Good Mommy you are Lou.

Cassie is an adorable little doll. I'm so happy that she is free of pain and able to enjoy life as the loved little girl that she is.

Cassie looks wonderful. :thumbup::thumbup: It amazes me how well they cope with things that absolutely devastate we humans.

We have a grandpup shih tzu rescue that was almost blind in both eyes due to horrible infection but, thank God, recovered. She also had ears that were so badly infected that her little ear canals are very tiny due to scar tissue, was in kidney & liver failure but excellent vet care saved her. Baby is on several meds for the rest of her life but we can't imagine not having her. Don't you find this breed to be fascinating? They are entirely different personalities than Yorkies!!

Tell Cassie that we are praying for her complete recovery and a long, happy life! :)

Shih tzu's are special little creatures and before we got Adie (Our first yorkie and first purchased dog) we swore we would never have another breed. We had decided to give up rescue after we got Ivan. It broke my heart seeing how timid and fearful Cassie was when we got her. She has never overcome being timid but she took on the role of alpha out of desperation when the big goofy Ivan came home with us. Of course she raised him to be just as sweet and gentle as she is.

It brings tears to my eyes thinking that I even thought about putting her down. I'm so glad I had you guys for advice and encouragement. Listening to you really paid off.
