Rest in Peace, Dallas </3 3 Attachment(s) My aunt Joan just called us and informed us that her family's dog, Dallas, was killed tonight when she was hit by a car. She was a 7 month old black lab puppy. Sweetest dog in the world - full of energy! She was a great-niece of their last black lab who passed away 3 years ago at the ripe old age of 15. I'm asking for prayers for their family. My cousin, Shawn, is 14 and suffers from severe Aspergers (a type of Autism). Tonight when he put the garbage out, he forgot to close the gate (which he NEVER forgets to do) and when Dallas went outside to go potty she ran out and into the road. They heard the car screech and ran outside and saw what happened. Shawn carried Dallas to the lawn from the road, and my aunt called my dad to go over to stay with Shawn while they went to the vet, but by the time he got there, Dallas was already gone. :( Shawn is in self-destructive mode. My aunt and uncle are doing their best to explain to him that it's not his fault, but there's only so much he can understand because he's kind of shut himself down. and of course it's also painful for my aunt and uncle because they are dealing with this too. Sorry this is such a long post...but this is so devestating. :( I loved this dog so much. Rest in Peace Dallas, you are loved. 1. Dallas the day she came home 2. My aunt, cousin, and Dallas 3. Dallas at 6 months |
I am so sorry for the sudden loss of little Dallas. Please tell Shawn that accidents happen and it wasn't his fault. Dallas is up in Heaven and running and playing with her Aunt . When we go to heaven all of our loved one's 2 and 4 legged are waiting for us. My deepest Sympathies to your whole Family!! Blessings to all....:rip::rbyorkie: R.I.P. Dallas... |
oh Meghan, I am so sorry for you and your family. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I hope your nephew comes thru this okay. |
omg I am so sorry for the tragic loss of Dallas, my heart goes out to his family... so heartbreaking at such a young age... |
May Dallas rest in peace. Prayers and good thoughts for you and your family. |
Oh Megan, I'm so sorry to read this. Your poor cousin and his family. Accident's happen and it's hard on those who can comprehend them so I can only imagine how hard this must be for your cousin. I wish I could offer advise but can only send prayer's that they get him to understand it was only an accident and was not his fault. R.I.P Dallas, she was a beautiful chocolate lab. |
Thank you all. My aunt had scheduled a minor surgery for this morning, so Shawn was going to be getting himself up and out to school. She got through her surgery fine, but Shawn ended up staying home from school... I'm not surprised. I am so sad for them. :( I wish that there was something I could say/do for them. and it was right around this time of year when the family lost Kelly (their last black lab) and my grandma, so this season already has painful memories attached to it...and now this. :( Sometimes life is just so unfair and though we know that Dallas fullfilled the purpose that she was sent here for, and she's now in Heaven, it doesn't ease the pain much. :( Only time can do that. My aunt is one of the strongest people I know and knowing that she hurts so much right now (for her son and her dog) is just killing me. |
I'm so sorry for the loss of Dallas! I'll be keeping you all in my prayers. |
