i have my 3 yorkies and a toy poodle called Daisy, she is only a puppy atm but they all get on brilliant, i know a few people who have yorkies and poodles and they al get on brill |
I think Schnauzers are great but also love Shi Tzus and Bichons! :) |
I have a 5 year old Jack-a-poo and I just got my first Yorkie 2 months ago. They are both females and they get along great! I took it slow when the puppy came home. After I picked out my puppy when she was about 3 weeks old I continued to visit the puppy at the breeders until I brought her home. When I would come home I would let Daisy smell my hands so that she got use to the smell, I think that helped! The fist day I brought Pixie home I kept her in the ex-pen and let them get aquainted through the ex-pen. They are such good buddies they cuddle to keep warm, it is so darn cute!! Good luck, can't wait for pictures:D |
In our house our Yorkies best friend is our Pug. Both are males. I think Jett (our Yorkie) loves Otto (our pug) because he snuggles and keeps him warm. Jett is about 3 pounds and Otto is 16pounds. They get along great, love to play and snuggle! **** PUGS shed a ton**** so not sure you would want to go with one... when we had him neutered the shedding slowed down a lot! |

I had my Yorkie, Diddy, first and then we added a maltese and then a shih tzu. They all have such different personalities and get a long great. I am sure you will know the right dog when you see it! |
1 Attachment(s) We decided that our little Reno needed a big sister, so we got a Great Dane. 5 lbs vs. 140 lbs and he is still the boss! (as I am sure all of you knew anyway) |

I LOVE that!!!! I wanted a Great Dane for quite some time, but then they live too short :(. I did want almost every single breed at one point in my 4-year span search for the perfect breed... I'm going to be walking a 160 lb Newfie with 7 lb Scruffs. Will be quite a sight to see! Much like you, I suppose!! Oops, off topic, sorry!! |
Nessa your PM inbox is full and over-flowing.... |
Not sure if you have already found your pup but I, too am in the same situation. We want a 3rd pup but don't know what! I have thought about a ton of breeds - great dane, basset, biewer, rescue mutt... But, now I am looking at small terriers - I don't want another yorkie because they are so tiny. I'm looking at the Westie, Norfolk, Norwich, Lucas and Cairn Terriers. All have the same look about them - small differences. None of them shed and all are very good with other dogs and children. Westies are SUPER cute being all white. And, they are really smart. Good luck. |
Go for the Biewer....you won't be sorry. |

I got to babysit a 3.5lb westie puppy the other day. It was a sight when I was walking my 110lb German shepherd and the 3.5lb white westie. I also laughed because my cat loves to beat up on my shepherd, but was scared of the puppy! |
I have a 1 year old yorkie and a 5 year old mini (40lb) goldendoodle. Life is never boring at my house and the "boys" just love eachother. While my goldendoodle is starting to settle down, my yorkie is full of energy. The bigger goldendoodle respects my yorkie's size (5lb) and the two of them have a lot of fun and exercise together. |
I had a black female schnauzer named Betsy as my first dog. I then got Levi my yorkie when Betsy was about seven. They got along wonderfully. Betsy passed away about 3 years ago at the age of thirteen. Although I have not gotten another dog, I always think about it. Levi is now five. I would recommend a schnauzer, they are great loving, loyal dogs.:rose: Rose and Levi |
