Three plus one makes four Our family of furkids has just increased in size! - we now have four. My Mom had to be placed in a nursing home and I decided to keep her dog, he is a black & grey Shih Tzu, 2.5 yrs old and answers to the name of Sunny. I'm not too knowledgeable of Shih Tzu's but this guy is the calmest of dogs I have ever met, nothing seems to phase him and is super QIET!!! We've had him since last Saturday and I swear I still have not heard him bark once:) WOW, compared to my three, that is a godsend. He is so quiet that I hardly notice the addition. So far the Yorks and him are mostly ignoring each other. At least they are not fighting. So it looks like it's going to work out just fine after all. I was kind of worried at the beginning, but all is great. |
Awe! Shih tzu are great dogs as I am quickly learning. So far I've read nothing but wonderful things about them and my Norman has a similar, laid back personality....nothing phases him. |
I'm sorry your mom had to give her baby up and go into a nursing home. Some nursing homes allow the people to have a dog if it's small. I hope he adjusts quickly and doesn't grieve. Bless you for taking him, as I know he probably already knows you. Pictures are always welcome. ;) |
Thanks - unfortunately my Mom was placed in a nursing home where she could not keep Sunny. He seems OK with his new surroundings whereas Mom has a harder time to adjust.:( - I'll try to post a picture but I'm still computer challenged in picture posting. Still have not mastered the resizing thing.. |
That is the worst thing when an elderly person has to give up their furbaby. I have always considered a pet to be a life saver for the elderly. I am sooo glad that you were able to take the little baby into your heart and home. One less orphan. Blessings. ~Joanne~ |
