Baileys Irish Creme

That is what I named him, almost 15 years ago, because of the coloring on his ears.'

Bailey is AprilLoves big furry Bichon brother. He was with me from 1994 until Jan 2nd this year. Almost 15 years.
Bailey was the first furkid in my life... ever. We could not have pets as kids. No matter how much we begged our mom, she had to raise six of us by herself, and she always told us, "who will take care of him/her?"
So.. we just bonded with our neighbors dogs and pretended like they were ours too :)

I waited until I was into my thirties, when I knew I could provide a stable home and care for a dog like they should be cared for. Then on Labor Day, 1994, Bailey adopted me.
This has been such a heartbreaking loss. The tears have still not stopped. When it gets easier, I do not know. For the last three years, Bailey has been diabetic, I was giving him insulin shots twice a day. He was doing good. He lost his sight almost two years ago, and lost his hearing about 6 months ago.

AprilLove and Nappy would help him up and down stairs by putting their bodies next to his and walking him up and down. It was the sweetest thing. He was loved by every person that met him, we called him "SirLickALot" . It has been the most trying 48 days since I helped Bailey cross the Rainbow Bridge. He had the most beautiful spirit of any dog I have ever met.

For all the love, companionship and undying affection he gave to me, I will never forget. He was and will always be, my boy, my Bailey boy. I hope someday this pain turns into happy memories.

This is a video of him from puppy to adult. I hope it gives some sense of what this beautiful spirit brought into my life.

Rest in Peace, Bailey. You brought joy,laughter and love into your mommys' life. I will never forget you. You are my boy. Please please watch over us.

Oh, I am so sorry for your loss of Bailey. Sounds like he had a full life with lots of loving care from you and Nappy and Aprilove.

Awwwww.......MaryKay...i am so sorry for your loss of your sweet Bailey..That was an awsome tribute video...he was a beautiful boy! You were blessed with all those wonderful years with him, and obviously have many wonderful memories that you can treasure forever. The pain will go away in time and then you can carry all your memories of him in your heart forever....hugs for you! RIP Bailey...

Please accept my condolences. Bailey's video moved me to tears. He was such an adorable little boy! I loved watching him interact with the cat, and his other brothers. What you wrote about them helping him up the stairs shows how much they all loved each other. How are they doing? I hope you find strength as you think back to all the pleasure he brought you. After watching your tribute I think that we need to start recording our little one because at least now you can watch him which should bring you comfort. Again, I am so sorry for your terrible loss.:(

MaryKay, I am so very sorry for your loss. I can\'t tell you how long you will have this overwhelming pain, but you will know when healing starts. It is the very first time you think of SirLickALot and smile through the tears.

From the video and from your commentary, you can tell that he was much loved by many, skin and furry alike. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I\'m tears right now after seeing Bailey\'s video. He was a happy and loved dog. I can tell by the way you talk about him how much you still love him.
I know first hand the pain you are going through, and that anything I say is not going to comfort you, but believe me it\'s going to get better with time leave all that to father time.
