Just leave them where they are unless its a dangerous place and let it take its course. if it lasts over a certain amount of time (i forgot how many minutes, 1 or 2) then get them to a vet right away. |
What he had wasn't a grand mal we are pretty sure about that. He was worse if I tried to put him down or walk with him. He was just almost terrified :( |
Maybe it was an anxiety attack. It sounds like he wasn't cared for as well before you got him. Maybe something happened to frighten him. I am glad he is doing well and in good hands now. |
well results are back from his bloodwork, He has giardia and heart worms. I get an estimate on his meds tomorrow. On one hand I'm so saddened by what this sweet little man has gone through and in the other I'm almost having my own anxiety attack thinking about the cost of all this. I should have known better since our wallets are far from fat but at the same time, how do you turn your back? I cleaned the yard up this morning and I thank God everyday I had Guinness' vaxs all done before bringing a dog into the home without knowing ANYTHING of his background. I am just praying that my stupid action doesn't harm him in any way. How can Samuel have Giardia and not have diarrea? I don't get it :( Is it really crappy of me to feel like a complete ass? |
Oh you did such a good thing taking him in. I hope it isn't too expensive. He is so lucky to have you! Here is a link to some info on Giardia. This article says that it is common to have the infection but not disease. I guess you can have it without symptoms.Giardia canis in Dogs |
