Cat Vaccination Schedule?? Does anyone have any suggestions as far as a "less is more" vaccination schedule for cats? I have Britney, Brooklyn, and (eventually) Coral on the schedule of having them vaccinated every three years (including rabies- by law) so I would like to put Gloria on a similar schedule. She, at one year of age, is due for her yearly shots and rabies. I'll probably have her first year booster done but I'm not sure if I should do her rabies as she never goes outside and it isn't required by law. Any suggestions?? |

I would consult with your vet. My cats never go outside but they are kept up to date on Rabies and FELV vaccines. The reason being is this. That rare emergency, break-in, fire or any other unplanned escape could unnecessarily expose them to multitude of things. |

I Never get my cat's there shot's after there spay one's. My cat's never go outside I don't see any reason for them If they got out in an emergency If they left the yard they would die of either a heartattack or by a car There is no way they would survive out there. I just put my 20 year old cat down a couple of day's ago i truly don't think she would have lived that long if she got her shot's every year JMO. |

I don't give my cats their shots either. They were given their rabies shots when they were spayed/neutered. They had 3 in 1 shots when they were little. They don't go outside ever, so I don't think they need more shots. If I had cats that went outside I would keep them up to date though. |
