Shih tzu free to a good home.. He is registered but lost the papers before I filled them out. The really never mattered to me so I never got them. He is 3 and UTD on his shots.and neutered. With a home with no kids or other animals. He needs to be the only dog but likes his space. He is being mean to my yorkies and I am afraid he will hurt them. He watches and pounces like a cat at them. They scream scared to death. He has not broke the skin on them but I think only because his muzzle is so small. I hate to give hime away but I don't know what to do. Any adivce would be great. I was thinking of a shock collar as the last resort |
I'm sure you'll be able to find someone great for him with no other animals or kids. Maybe someone will know of an older person that needs a companion. I wish you luck on rehoming him. |
Melissa do you have pics? |
I'm so sorry you're having trouble. I have a Shih Tzu and a Yorkie, and I think both are the best breeds on opposite ends of the spectrum. I wish you luck in either retraining your boy or screening families until you find him the perfect home. :) |
Ohhh, I'd take him in a heartbeat if I could. I do love the Shih Tzu breed. But I've already got a Shih Tzu, Yorkie mix, and two cats...so he'd not be the only one here. My Shih Tzu doesn't like kids either, which is fine because we don't have any. It's funny ... our household is the opposite, it's my Yorkie mix that jumps my 'Tzu! Mine play great together though. But yes, the short muzzle on the 'Tzu makes biting difficult. My Yorkie mix has more of a bite. Anyhow, I'll pass along your info to some of my friends who have 'Tzu's also. You may also try the Shih Tzu Rescue for rehoming. If you Google Shih Tzu Rescue it should come up with some websites. I wish you luck. I hope things work out somehow, and maybe you can keep him. Maybe puppy school? Or how about a can full of pebbles? That calms my dogs down pronto to shake a noisy can of rocks. |
Where in West Virginia are you? Are you close to the PA border? My Mom is looking for a Shih tzu. She had a boy for many years and he was spoiled rotten. She had to put him down in Sept. 2006, and is now ready for another Shih tzu. It is just my Mom and Dad in the house. |
I just went to your website to see where you are located. It is too far from where they live. Good luck in finding a good home. |
