Spring is here on the farm!! 4 Attachment(s) Just thought I would share all the mew babies being born around here. The first one is Hugabunch (calf) and the next one is the pasture with another calf running after its mommy. The last photos are of our new kittens birn just a day ago. Two of them have short tails. I know - hubby's cat. She is getting spayed after the kittens stop nursing. T. |
Here is one more of the kittens. We have chickens too - but the roosters are out of the hen house. I did get a double york egg today while making a cake - the eggs are from my chickens. I have Azurians, Rhode Island Reds and Silkies. I love spring here in the country. We have all the spring flowers and the apple and peach trees are flowering too. So pretty! T. |
3 Attachment(s) Oops! Forgot to add the photos. Here is my hubby feeding one of the cows. They also love our cat's bell necklace. When they hear it they come over to the fence in our backyard and watch the cat. It is so funny. I think they want their own bell necklace. T. |
Those are all so cute! I love farm life. Lived on a farm growing up. I miss the fresh milk, eggs, beef, chickens, and all the fresh veggies. The only think I did not like is helping clean the chickens. They don't smell so great after they are dunked in boiling water. :( |
Oh I miss all the animals,we used to have calfs (well buy them) chickens ,kittens ,horses.Love going out in the morning to see the new babies.Kinda got out of the farm life and now just have the yorkies, but we are getting chickens this year. Love the green grass also ,we are expecting snow here friday! |
We use to live in a subdivision up to about two years ago. I love it so much here. I great place to retire and so quite/peacful! We have horses next door to us and across the street too. I might help them with the horses this summer and then I will be able to exercise the horses. Not a bad deal. They have 150 acres aross the street. Then next door they also have a big, black pig. Just two houses down they have emus, donkeys, and goats too. Then down the road is a huge wildlife preserve. I actually hear lions roar in the early morning hours. It is weird to hear their low sounding rumble. But yes, I love it here. JFYI - Our chickens are just for the eggs - we don't cook them. Not with Tyson so close. We do actually buy our chicken right from the plant. So much better. T. |
