Their breeder was so upset... so much so that she hasent even updated her website yet... it still has the congratulations kathryn, bla blabla.... banner up on the kittens page and the girls pictures.... It killed me to go look at them... My husband has encouraged me to keep looking for older girls to bring home in leu of placing deposits on young kittens... I would worry myself SICK over little ones again! I'd call a breeded daily wanting to make sure they were ok... I'd burn a breeder out! They'd quit breeding after selling to me! LOLOLOLOLOL! So after I looked and looked and looked some more at picture after picture and I found TWINS! Twins that look NOTHING like my girls did... Twin girls who are 6 months old! I found them through a gal who owns their sister.... I'm pretty stoked... I'll post more about them later... For now I am busy trying to find a good way to memorialize Bas and Cairo... Maybe a drawing or painting?? I'm not sure yet.... |
Kathryn -- I just came across this thread. I am so very sorry for your loss. I will say a little prayer for both you and the breeder. What a terrible tragedy! |
Kathryn, So sorry to hear this. It's not much consolation, but at least you didn't get them settled at home only to find they were ill. Sounds like maybe you've found your new babies. Some things truly are meant. Thoughts and prayers headed your way. |
I am so sorry for your loss. :( Never again will a question a breeder who won't let people visit puppies (or kittens). How sad. |
So sorry for your loss. They were already entangled around your heart and loved before you brought them home. A place in your heart is the best honor you can give them. |
found a sign on ebay tonight that summed it all up for me.... Its a placard that you hang on the outside of a show cats cage to remind people to keep their hands off! Its reads: Please do not touch me! Hugs and squeezes spread diseases! I just had one of those Ah Ha! Moments.. I was at petco this weekend buying a few items and they had the adoption weekend and they had the usual line up of puppies and kittens, and the kittens were really sneezy and runny nosed... Upper Respiratory, they were adoption out kittens with upper respiratory... my heart just sank... it can develop into what killed my girls... and all I would have needed do was "hug and squeeze" those cute little sick babies with their buggery noses, and take it to a breeders home or my home, or your home... and I could wipe out someone else's baby... I broke out in tears right there in petco... I have been a total case since the girls died, so silly I know.. It just really makes you take a closer look at the little things. But on the good news front... I have a fabulous art major doing a memorial of the girls for me. I am not sure what medium yet, she is the artist, not me... But the girls will be memorialized and remembered. They will not be forgotten. Their short but very meaning full lives will be forever present in my home thanks to this wonderful friend. The twins.... Yep, I decided to adopt the twins! They come home next week.. I didn't expect things to happen so fast, but then life has a way of happening without ya doesn't it?? I will post pics as soon as I take some, and names will be posted as soon as I figure some out! They do not have names and I and coming up blank! LOL So I'll have to get back to ya all on that! LOL The twins are 6 months old and are cream and blue mink. (I have no clue what the heck that means) If you look at them they pretty much look pink... with some faint blue undertones... and they have BIG BLUE EYES! |
Kathryn, Sorry to hear about your devastating losses. I am glad however that you've found the twins to love. |
Oh how awful! I would be upset as well sending you *hugs* eta: congrats on the new babies coming soon!! |
Thanks you two! Prepaing for the twins has helped... but I can't say that its lessened the hut any... In the past... Busying myself with something really works... but I'm taking this loss REALLY hard! I just don't get it? I can't believe how attached I am. I am however very excied about the twins and cant wait to meet them! I bought them with full intent to show... They are from show lines and should do well if I put in the time and energy. :D I've always wanted to show! I always thought it would be dogs... but I've been to cats shows and they are really neat too... And a LOT LESS grooming! LOLOLOLOL :thumbup: I'm all for that! |
im so sorry to hear about your kitties :( :( :( :( i hope the twins keep your mind off of the other babies and showing cats does sound like fun! you will have to post pics of the cat shows, i would be interested to see that! cats were my first love and i have always had one. they have such personalities dont they!? i think my yorkie loves my cat so much that he thinks he IS a cat! well wishes coming your way to help you though this tough time. |
I am so sorry to hear about your loss:( I truly beleive that everything happens for a reason though. Looks like you were meant to have the twins instead. Looking forward to pics. |
