Thank you all for your condolences. I really never knew how hard this would be. My husband has tried to hide his sadness, but it is peeking through. I asked him yesterday how he was doing and he just said "I'm sad.....". Then when I picked Rex's food bowl up and put it in the sink, I cried. I put Maggies where his was...because hers was always just in the middle of the floor...Rex and Daisy had theirs on a food mat with the water bowl....it just makes sense to have hers on the food mat out of the way now....anyway...when I fed the dogs, Maggie had NO idea that I had fed her. She was still jumping around, dancing, waiting for her food. I said "honey...she thinks that food is for Rex..." He kinda chuckled and said "You trained these dogs very very well". LOL i showed her the food, then she went and ate it :) He later said that it is sad to see Maggie's bowl where Rex's was :( Then when we went to bed, he mentioned how weird it was to not put Rex to bed. He asked if I thought Maggie would want to sleep in his chair...in his bed. And I just said "Nope...she\'s sleeping with me!" LOL

again...thanks for all of the kind words. He is missed. :(

I am sorry for your loss, Mandee. May Rex be at happy on the other side of Rainbow Bridge. Your comments remind me how aware I am that time is short with my two seniors. I try to remember that every day. Sometimes it\'s hard with a bouncing 1 yr. old Yorkie, and an 8 mo. old Pommie that get into trouble all the time. Please be at peace.

So sorry about your familie\'s loss. We had to put a chow/coker mix down that we had since she was 4 weeks old. We still miss her. She had jaw cancer and nothing could be done.

I am very sorry for your loss... we lost our TBone in the summer, he was 15 and such a sweetie.... may they run and play over the bridge.... til we get there!

I am so sorry I know this had to be very hard on you ! Do not beat yourself up.. Just think he will not suffer and you did the best thing for him .. He lived a good long healthy life and deep down he always knew you loved him...It is kinda like a boy and a girl in school... The boy is mean to the girl pulls her hair.. calls her names chases her tells on her ect.... deep down he loves and likes her.. same thing nothing more nothing less... you loved that boy in your own way ...

You\'re not alone! Loosing a pet is devastating. I know, because my beloved dog Max just passed away last week and it seems like the sadness will never go away. It will get better but you will never forget them. I disagree with your statement "you never bonded". YOU DID! Maybe you don\'t realize it but you did. Don\'t be too hard on yourself, you loved that dog just as much as anybody in your family because you made the right decision when it you had to. I never knew how much my husband loved Max until the end. You bonded with that little guy more than you know. My thoughts are with you. Take care.:rip:
